What the Americans did in the Philippines was absolutely disgusting in that war. The Philippinos fought their best, and even won some battles, but the sheer technological support that the Americans had was decisive.

If Russia merges Belarus and Ukraine with itself, that means Russia returning to 80~85% of old glory, without the baggage of communism.
USA has till now tried to use India as a whip dog against China. Current dispenstion has rightly not taken the bait to a great extent.
If India plays a well balancing game, US out of desperation will be forced to give substantial favours and not just use and throw us.
A favourable trade deal, not dictating economic policies favourable to US MNC's, less interfence in our internal especially religious and demography related issues, weapon systems that we want not that which they want to force down our throat and some infra investments in India will do it.

Just a bit of superpower hypocrisy with Chinese characteristics. But to be fair they haven’t invaded anyone in the last 4 decades (although if you were one of its neighbouring countries with land that belonged to China since ancient times you might have faced some pushing and shoving).
But IMO it's nevertheless significant that the Chinese foreign minister sate this in a western forum - could mean China will not let this opportunity go to put pressure on the Russians to extract concessions.
