Some here claim that the US will suffer from high oil prices if Russia invades. But the US is the biggest oil producer in the World. So it will profit from any increase in oil prices.

As to US and other countries' power demands, another increase in oil prices will only accelerate their decarbonization efforts, which is definitely a long term catastrophe for Russia.

On transportation, any invasion of Ukraine and rise in oil prices means an acceleration of EV production. Once the car industry switches to EV production they will not return anymore to fossil fuel models. Another black eye to Heil Putin and Russia.

Europe needs oil and this event will increase the Oil demand and prices. You can believe what ever you want. I monitor US markets and updates everyday also i live in mentioned country to see the impact. Its 7.5% inflation increase YoY in Jan 2022 which is heavily under-estimated FED datapoint.

The West did not train Chechens, the Soviets did. The Russians have to fight them though. Neither did the West trained IS, Saddam's Revolutionary Guard trained them.

In the case of Russians, it supported the Talibans against the US. So the US left Afghanistan humbled
