the last two Type 051G destroyers 165 Zhanjiang and 166 Zhuhai will be decommissioned within months after three decades' service. all of their HHQ-7 canisters have been removed.

China has 30-35 DDGs and 50+ FFGs (close to 90 in total).
Ours is 10 DDGs and 13 FFGs (just 23, a good fleet as large as a capable country but nowhere near US & PRC).

well the PRC has the disadvantage of the distance for replinishement while the indian standoff weapons could harass them though could nol eliminate them could temporarily disable them for an extent within which foreign aid and indian strategic assets could be mobalised. as far as the chinese bombers are considered they are to be used against the indian northern boundaries.

Indian Andaman command has many hidden bases and weapons that could annihilate the chinese navy through malacca strait which may force the chinese to use different routes around the indonesia or all its assets in the Indian ocean region whose movements could be easily detected using the satelites.

the only threat are the chinese submarines though we are building a strategic anti submarine capabilities one sub which may slip through our nets could stall the entire fleet of india.

land based missiles and the airlaunched missiles could keep the chinese surface fleet at bay. but to hunt down the subsurface threats more work is needed. through additional ten posiedons we could have some edge but those work for the long oceans but any chinese nuclear sub near to the indian port sitting idle for more than a week waiting to ambush could devastate the entire naval movement through the area.


though most of the chinese naval assets would be tied down to the south china sea any USA's alignment with the chinese could devastate the entire indian naval assets and armada. Given the temper of the Trump who may stall the US aid in time, its mosty possible to imagine the worst cases.

The point that no one noticed is that 13 destroyers will enter service in PLAN within just 24 months including
10 Type052D (#13-#22)
3 Type055 (#2-#4)
While another 6 will follow quite soon (2022) including 2 055, 4 052D

I'd expected this to launch by the end of this year.. If not, certainly before march 2020.

Right next to the two 055 being assembled are 052d(20) and 055(4)..
055(3) is the one to the left of entry of drydock.

1. well, it's possible. Dec 26 is a propitious day.
2. I heard the total number of 052d is 25 rather than previous 26 and the total number of 055 is 12 not previous 8
3 I'm not sure about 1&2. All i'm sure about is the white stuff in your pic is snow.
