🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

If the passing grade for chinese helis is "it can fly", it does explain why most of their tech seems to fail rather quickly.

Chinese are nowhere near Americans in tech as you are claiming.
Yes they r not near Americans
But if you manufacture in large numbers in a period of time you will create a quality product which will be enough to compete Americans and that too with much more numbers and cheap
These things are not enjoyed by Americans

Thats the downside of having a capitalism dominated military complex- Extravagant prices. But advantage is that companies have a great drive for tech superiority, and thats how america holds the advantage.

Not much more capitalism in US firms than Chinese ones ;)

When an American carrier is being built at Newport News (like USS Ford here) there is no other ship but the carrier.

This is Type 003 being built in Shanghai. It is just one of many large ships being built by Jiangnan. The other ships are even bigger than the carrier and they earn money for the company ;)

If most of Chinese fail quickly then why does China dominate technology exports? ;)

Quote where I said anything about Americans? :)
bec, china has most assembling units in the world, and that is because of cheap labour.

btw, if something looks identical then it is not necessarily of same quality.

eg. chinese ssbns (they are called underwater orchestra) 😜😜😜😜

Labor in China is five times more expensive than India ;)

And there are more countries even cheaper than India so why China? :)

China will be building a lot of SSNs and SSBNs!

Obviously, China would not be building so many if they were "orchestras" ;)

Also a building lot of SSKs too!

If you are interested in Chinese submarines, you should read up on the big expansion of facilities building submarines in China. Carriers and destroyers get most of the news but China's nuclear and conventional submarine programs are massive:

In an unclassified analysis, the U.S. Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) says it expects China’s submarine fleet to grow from around 66 boats today to 76 by 2030. This will include 6 more nuclear-powered attack submarines, which is what the Bohai yard at Huludao builds. Others, such as Captain Captain James E. Fanell who was Director of Intelligence and Information Operations for the U.S. Navy’s Pacific Fleet, put their estimates higher. Fanell recently projected around 110 submarines by 2030.

yes in china labour is currently more expensive than india but this was not the conditions in 90s and 2000s.

I can't predict the future but I can say for sure that chinese n-subs are louder than russians also for now.

Wages in China were never lower than India and by 2000, the GDP of China was much bigger which dictated much higher wages:

The only time when wages were close to equal was when China came out of communism in the 1980s.

And China greatest growth came after 2000 when Chinese wages were already several times that of India.

The giant new yard for China's nuke subs is set up for the mass production of the Type 096 SSBN and the Type 095 SSN (which the US Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) says is close to the Virginia class.) ;)

China has built a massive new yard for building nuclear submarines. The site, near to the legacy Bohai shipyard where all of China’s nuclear submarines are currently built, is still being developed. But the main constriction halls have been complete for some time. New commercial satellite imagery, available to anyone via Google Earth, appears to show the first hull section of a new submarine.

The exact class of submarine has not yet been confirmed. But it is possibly either the first Type-095 Tang-class attack submarine (SSN) or the first Type-096 ballistic missile sub (SSBN).

The section is the tail of the submarine. This is to be expected as most submarines are assembled such that the nose (bow) comes out of the construction hall first. Witness US Navy and Royal Navy nuclear submarines for example.

The new submarine will be part of the Chinese Navy’s (PLAN) massive expansion. Nuclear powered submarines will be critical to its ambition of becoming a true blue-water Navy. New Type-095 (more properly written Type-09V) is an attack submarine which is expected to be more closely comparable to the US Navy’s Virginia-class.

Even with all the recent ship building China and allies (Russia and Pakistan?) still seem to be significantly outnumbered in fighting warships/subs when compared to the Americans and their long list of allies. Maybe a 200 or so naval warship difference with a great many of China and Russia's ships being smaller corvettes. Will we be seeing an even bigger build up by China to reduce this imbalance?
Undoubtedly, the Chinese remember what gangs of aggressive smaller nations can do to weaker big nations that have wealth....China vs the Eight nation alliance.

China will be building ships (and warplanes) in consistent numbers over many years (maybe for the rest of our lifetime) to reduce this imbalance.

Remember only 1.5% of China's GDP is dedicated to defense compared to 3.5% of the US so China can still expand.

But unlikely because since 2010, China cut into the US lead in destroyers and cruisers by 30 with this consistent buildout at 1.5%! In 2010, PLAN had only three modern DDGs (3 Type 052Cs) with VLS to 60 US ones. Today, with 3 extra 052Cs, 25 052Ds and 8 Type 055s, the gap is down to 36 vs 70.

Another decade of this consistent build would erase that gap entirely. After 2035 a gap might be created in the other direction with more Chinese DDGs than US ones. That is with only the current 1.5% ;)

This is the first 052D, #172 Kunming. It was launched in 2012.

In August 2020, the 25th 052D (and the 8th 055) were launched together at Dalian!

It took only 8 years to launch 25 7500-tons DDGs (plus 8 13000-tons CGs) ;)

Same pace in the next 15 years would give the PLAN 60+ more DDGs and CGs.

China needs to match up with the US, Japan and South Korea so the carriers, fighters, cruisers and hypersonics have to come along quickly.

India has to match up with Pakistan.

The threat levels are very different.
We need to have a defensive posturing against China and number according to it
Pls read our leaders recent speeches past 2-3 years we have started saying our primary threat as China
Definitely a lot of work need to be done on ground
Self reliance, bigger gdp and gdp per capita, infra need to increase
What I say is China started its aggressiveness(I mean building) when it was 3 trillion dollar economy, so we must also try the same
Pakis were not our primary threat in the past 5 years(from 2017) in the mind of our establishment

Perhaps, SCL is making reference just to the navies that threaten mainland China or PLAN.
Indian navy in the Indian Ocean doesn't really threaten China or PLAN.

The Indian Air Force and Army, on the other hand, could be a major threat to the PLA Ground and Air Force if, rather peaceful and patient, Indians suddenly changed from being Indian to say crazy aggressive marauding Huns or Greeks (Alexander took a go at your people).
Indians are probably less insane than most. Good for you.
