Your understanding is wrong.

$12 is the amount returned to the individual. The individual can use it as he likes.

$12 is not the limit for reimbursement

China's health policy is a complex system of calculations
Lol wumao make them understand, not me

My understanding is pretty simple, Wuhan's local government is finding it really hard to maintain fiscal prudence, hence the axe has fallen on medical insurance for the elderly.

To prove me wrong, all you have to do is show me where the benefits of medical insurance have increased to compensate for the reduction in disbursements.

Life expectancy in China is higher than in India
Life expectancy is high because of higher prosperity from a much bigger economy. There are problems with the health system compared to wealthy countries but you cannot find a better health care system in the developed world.

One of bigger problems is China doesn't allow generics because of WTO agreement. Before WTO in 2000, China did not follow Western Big Pharma patents -- just like India.

China already makes the APIs that go into generics everywhere including India so once the law changes on drugs and Chinese companies can make the final dosage, generics can flood China and the world.

I know..
that's what CCP is trying to slove now since new generation declined to give births under CCP regime.
South Korea and Japan don't have the CCP, nor do Italy and Greece. Obviously women are not giving birth for some other reason. Fertility has also greatly declined in India, from 5.9 to 2.1. Africa is still breeding like crazy. Almost like the movie Children of Men.

Even aging Japan has better Birthrate than CCP land..

China won't be able to suatain pensions and med bills, and outcome is already visible.

China has the same life expectancy as the US and the same birth rate as Japan. Healthwise, China follows the same trends as developed nations.

This is because consumption-wise China actually acts like a developed nation by being the world's largest market for cars, TVs, pork, beer and fried chicken. Each of those impacts health the same as in developed nations.

Yes, China like many others will have to go begging to the banksters in Tyrol (Davos) for money to sustain the nation. Banksters will laugh and party. Sold their souls and the souls of their children into slavery.

China became lower only very recently. Italy, Spain and Japan have all be in the 1.3-1.4 range for decades. All no CCP but they are all nations of whites. See the pics Sxychinlady has posted of Chinese changing into sexy tall slim white robots?
Robots come in many forms, love bots, enforcer bots, worker bots... :D

TBH that could be a reason.. models in sxychinlady posts are so thin. These east asian women are aiming for insanely small waists. Somewhat making them incapable of birthing in natural way.

Video in the portal.

The conversation escalates. Finally, a man in full hazmat gear, with the characters for “policeman” (警察) emblazoned on his chest, strides forward. “Once you’re punished, this will affect your family for three generations!” he shouts, wagging a finger toward the camera. “We’re the last generation, thank you,” comes the response. The couple slam the door.

This is the health care reform that was decided in 2019,

2023 is the first year of implementation.

This is a national decision that other cities will have to implement, and the timing will vary from city to city.

I had a $1,300 balance in my health insurance account after a long absence from the hospital, which I could even use to buy groceries. This is not allowed by the government and the purpose of the reform. The government wants to spend the money more efficiently rather than sitting around in personal accounts.

Not everyone has benefited from the policy,

The chronically ill and elderly are important beneficiaries.

Strange talk about robots. It is the opposite, women are becoming more human instead of being baby-making machines as the countries they live in develops.

Let's be realistic here, birthrates are low in East Asia and Europe because young women have a lot more choices.

To be blunt, you can be in a relationship, have sex, have fun and still keep your job and your slim body by NOT getting married and having kids because you can work and have your own income.

In developing countries, women don't have the income possibilities and are pretty much forced into marriage and baby-making and children-raising at a young age.

Besides, there are still a LOT of young people in China. Girls there are not worried about some theoretical population decline or aging. They are having fun and helping the economy by spending a LOT on fashion, food and luxuries ;)

There was a time when Italians and Spanish were not considered white :)

Look at Italian birth rates throughout the 20th century. TFR was higher than India -- probably ~6 per woman unlike 5 in India. Most emigrated to North America - so the population did not shoot up in Italy as it did in India.

Article says they were always considered to be whites.

article speaks of schooling, marriage laws but you make the best point. Most emigrated to North America. So they were allowed entry.
Compare to the Chinese, Hindus, Sikhs, Africans who were banned, taxed, moved like chattel or taken as slaves (depending on the group).

Higher fertility in the 20th century, UK, USA also had much higher TFR back then. Guess they didn't know what they had until it was gone. Too bad for them

I wouldn't jump on the 'windfall' narrative either. It's just '15 lakh' part 2. Benefits from such projects very rarely trickle down.
If you want a silver lining then just look at the independence of decision making and security it gives you. No fear of sanctions and OPEC fuckery.
Chinese have just gotten into Bolivia in a big way. $1 billion invested in mines. Bolivia per capita income is not high. Will be interesting to see if Chinese investment affects are any different than the Americans, English, Europeans, Russians, Japanese.... have have been.

ttps://thediplomat.com/2023/02/in-bolivia-china-signs-deal-for-worlds-largest-lithium-reserves/

Higher lithium prices lead to more reserves becoming viable or discovered. Bolivia is estimated to have around 21 million tonnes.

Chinese are a step or two ahead in investing in resources.
"...Through a mix of research and strategic convening, this project explores these complex dynamics, including the ways Chinese firms are adapting to local labor laws in Latin America, Chinese banks and funds are exploring traditional Islamic financial and credit products in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, and Chinese actors are helping local workers upgrade their skills in Central Asia. These adaptive Chinese strategies that accommodate and work within local realities are mostly ignored by Western policymakers in particular. ...."

Chinese seeing what they needed were able to create plans and then make investments to support those plans.
"In 2021 alone, Chinese state-owned companies, including China Railway Construction, China Communications Construction, and China National Off-shore oil (CNOOC), funded $11.3 billion worth of projects in South American countries. "

Saw where the Lithium was and made moves, positive for the region, before lots of others. Bet the UK was making moves too probably not as positive for the region.
