now this is good news but still the orders are less more order should come. great news.
Something is better than nothing. Lets hope in future army place more orders.
We should be more happy with the fact that The Arjun is no longer capped at 124 tanks.A sad news for indigenous defense prowess. Eventually, DGMF was successful in sabotaging a better tank (Arjun) at the cost of T-90.
The new order of another 124 tanks is very good news as this means that the cap on the number of Arjuns no longer applies.
With the Army finally recognising the Arjun as the superior vehicle.
It can now bolster it tank corps , with Arjun's whenever needed.
It also means that IA , now cannot import more tanks.
As there is now have a fully functioning and capable indigenous alternative.
Unless IA can explain to the defence ministry , why more imported T-90's are needed , when a perfectly sound India tank is already in production and inducted.
If IA wants more MBT's this decade then those already on order.
which now includes
186 Arjun MBT's
~1000 T-90's
all new MBT's order from now to 2020 have to be Arjun's .

Bottom line
This statement , that was almost the nail in the coffin of the Arjun tank
This now means absolutely nothing.the Indian Army has confirmed that the Arjun's production will be capped at 124 units. Lt General Dalip Bharadwaj, the Director General for the Mechanized Infantry, said that "Army will place no more orders for Arjun beyond 124 that was already contracted",
No cap , now mean new order's for the tank whenever during this decade.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
I think now we can now hold true to General Dalip Bharadwaj's eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee , other statement
..=i+Later in the year 2009, during the handing over of Arjun tanks, he said that the joint effort , and the will to succeed against all odds displayed by various agencies in putting out MBT Arjun. Proved to the world that India was a force to reckon with when it came to weapon design capabilities. The Army, which was proud to possess the tank, was confident that MBT Arjun would rank among the best tanks in the world.
