Have I notice that Poland in 2001 bought licensed production for Spike ATGM - 264 lunchers and 2675 missailes, and first batch imported form Isreli had 14,5% falitures ATGMS (fell down after lunched). The problem was in software in cold, foggy, rainy weather. Now produced in ZM MESKO factory "polonizated" Spkie ATGM have only 1,4% falitures. The same israeli IFV turrets: RCWS-30 and UTD-30 where rejected after tests in polish climate couse both turrets don't fulfilled more then 60% requirements of the polish MoD -for example in temperature -20 C degree both turrets where unable to fight... German and italian turrets havn't sucht problems in Poland. The sam old ex-Soviet of course

New defensive aids for MBT Arjun proven in trials

August 19, 2014: An advanced laser warning countermeasure system and a mobile camouflage system have recently been tested and proven on the Arjun MBT Mk.II in the Mahajan Field Firing Range in Rajasthan. Both capabilities will be strong survivability factors on the new improved tanks as it heads into a crucial phase of user trials. The new camouflage system has been developed to provide multi- spectral signature management for Arjun Mk.II, in order to protect the vehicle against all enemy sensors and smart munitions. According to the CVRDE, "The performance evaluation trials have been conducted at MFFR and system has been integrated in the Arjun MBT." The advanced laser warning countermeasure system has been developed to increase survivability of Arjun Mk.II against anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs) with semi automatic command to line-of-sight (SACLOS) system, ATGMs with a laser target designator, beam rider ATGMs, and tanks fitted with a laser range finder. During recent trials, the ALWCS was integrated with the Arjun's integrated fire control system.

The numbers you quoted are wrong iirc.

It is 124Mk1+118Mk2=242.

Director, CVRDE, Dr Sivakumar, gives us the low-down on the Arjun programme.
based on this report we should have 248 MK1

http://www.pib.nic.in/newsite/erelease.aspx?relid=61870

The Army has decided to place fresh order for an additional home-built 124 mk1 Main Battle Tank (MBT) Arjun. This is over and above the existing order of 124 mk1 tanks. The development follows the success of the indigenous MBT Arjun in the recent gruelling desert trials.

These new numbers appear to make more sense than the 118 being peddled yesterday. The armored regiments of the IA have 62 Arjun MK1s per armored regiment. So a 124 tank order for the MK2 would imply another 2 full strength armored regiments of the Arjuns.

a 118 tank order would on the other hand imply either an understrength armored regiment of the MK2, or a reorganization of the Arjun fleet. Thankfully, this appears not to be the case.

I think it's just 124 Arjun MkI and 118 Arjun MkII.

At present, the army has decided to induct 118 Arjun Mk-2 tanks instead of 124. This is the result of a policy decision that will see the war reserve for all armoured regiments in the future being reduced by three. And so, two regiments of Arjun Mk-2 will be short of six reserve tanks.

Mk1 Tranche 1 (124 ordered) = Approx 110-115 inducted till date.
Mk1 Tranche 2 (124 planned) = Not approved by DAC, Scrapped.
Mk2 Tranche 1 (118 planned) = Approved by DAC, Induction to start.

Totally confused...
