I did not like all names you wrote except Ajeya. But still it does not come close to 'Garud'.

An appropiate name might be one of the names of the Sun,

3. Achyuta अच्युताय Imperishable, The Steady One
4. Asmanabala असमानबलाय (The One of Unequalled Strength.)
5. Ananta अनन्त Unbounded one
6. Vishvarupa विश्वरूप The One with an All Pervading Form (sounds like MRCA)
7. Ijya इज्य The One to be Revered
8. Vivasvat विवस्वत् The one who shines forth.
9. Eshvaryada ऐश्वर्यद The Bestower of Power

Honestly, all the names kinda feel like name of weapons, like missiles. Name should be simple Sanskrit, still felt strong after hearing. 'Aditya' is a good one but seems like ICBM name. Also there is ISRO Aditya mission. So it is booked. Hope someone in the ministry will look this thread and note down liking words for naming when required.

I guess name Garud, Adrishya are nice.
Other IMO possible is "Khagraj".
Who knows about Government. They gave LCA a nice name, Tejas(the Radiant), they will get something unexpected for this one too.

These are CGI. Please remember when they do detailed design, it can and will change.

The first step is selection of an engine, as engine is must for design. Then will come the rest of major components like radar, defensive systems etc. I think FGFA project will be needed for knowledge of several items which we lack right now. So AMCA will need FGFA in a way.

We shall build FGFA before we build AMCA. This is a certainty.
