I don't think self-repair = withstanding kinetic energy from an explosive.

This can be a good covering for electronic components in various defence and even civilian products. For example, engine covering for bikes, cowlings etc.

I won't blame them tbh,very few people(who are keen) in indian defense industry look deep into indian projects development and most of the development of AMCA is secret.
We have literally developed nearly every tech for AMCA except GaN radar(which would take some time for testing and evaluation after prototype is developed) and engines ofcourse.
The IWB,sensors,DSI intake with bumps are one of the very complex things which we've managed to develop besides RAM,the reason you don't hear much about it is because it's classified.
Rest is the matter of assembling and you would soon see the prototype as it is already under prototype manufacturing phase.
Besides the design of amca is more advanced than kfx.

You don't have to worry about stealth shaping,AMCA is the perfect blend of aerodynamics and stealth
Regarding radar It will take time,we have to wait for full fledged GaN radar completely tested for different tracking roles.
Afaik X Band GaN Aesa radar prototype might come next year or 2023
I agree though on your 1st line PR and weapons procurement.
Unless they're bringing major design changes I don't think AMCA getting delayed but will take time for induction.

AMCA being a classified project speaks volumes about why they’re more interested in working on the jet than making 3D renders and animations as if selling a family car.

PR is necessary but only when you're exporting stuff to countries or celebrating your success,but not like the ruskies who make a video about perfumes and sell it in the name of checkmate fighter jet,it sounds desperation to me lol.

With AMCA, our Aerospace Sector will bloom (atleast that is what I am Expecting from it ) Indigenous Aerospace projects like AMCA,Tejas mk 2, TEDBF, Ghatak etc are a necessity for our Defence Industry .

AMCA ,TEDBF ,Tejas mk2 etc will help us a lot in our field of Aeronautics. Let's hope for the best and hope that some foolish government Action Doesn't hinder the Progress Of our Aeronautical projects.

Korean KAI FX on the other hand had technical Support from Lockheed Martin and maybe few other companies. It's design is very much borrowed from the F-22 Raptor. Also KAI FX is supposed to be a 4.5 generation Aircraft and AMCA will be a full fledged 5-5.5 generation Fighter Aircraft! So it justifies the Time line of both Programs.
