------------------------------------------------

The links have no mention of what you are claiming here..

Such as even it the basic AK

". The tank has true hunter-killer capability, giving the commander the ability to acquire new targets independently while the gunner is engaging another target"

while the basic AK and Indian t90s thermal imagers are totally same.

Well the answer to your question is.
Yes this AK1 was basically developed/further upgraded for Saudi's as most of the latest upgrades were done upon there request

well AK1 didNt made it to Saudi but ended up in mass production for PA

Country flag
if the tank is so so good as you said then how come it has no foreign buyers, please post your comments to only Al Khalid tank, not its Chinese clones.

. The gunner is equipped with a full night vision suite, including a 2nd-generation thermal imager developed by France. The gunner also has an image intensification scope and a conventional telescopic sight; all of which are stabilized. The commander has his own thermal imager, image intensifier, and conventional telescopic sight, in a separate sensor head that gives the Al-Khalid a hunter-killer capability. The commander also has emergency controls for the main gun and coaxial machinegun. The Al-Khalid has a ballistic computer of French design, along with a laser designator of Chinese design.

This is a complete nonsense.

First Al Khalid do not have telescope sight, it have only electronic periscope sight, no auxiliairy sight that when installed, is exactly simple telescope sight.

Besides this, if You have a thermal sight, why the hell You want a less capable night vision sight that will take additional space? Nobody do this, unless NV is for commander instead of thermal, but this means that it have limited H-K capability in night due to limited range and target detection/identification at night and in bad atmosferic conditions. Then it's might be true, Al Khalid commander panoramic sights, seems to be too small to have inside thermal camera. If we compare it's size with all tanks that have panoramic sight with thermal camera, we can see that they are more bulky. So IMHO tank commander in Al Khalid have only day channel + simple night vision channel instead of thermal sight.

Arey Yar al khalid is a tank and not some vegetables/fruit so that we can sell it directly

many things matter before buying any weapons(tank is i guess one of the most important asset of armies around the world)

performance does matter but so are many other things
such deals are political aswell
background of the manufacture matter alot (Russia, usa,France,German these countries are the oldest supplier and has a better background)

WHILE al khalid will be bought by in bulk by pak army.so even if it doesnt get a foreign.not matter

well from China side Bangladesh has ordered 44 mbt2000.

As per sultan Jordan is evaluating(currently)

There is such thing as common sense. I know what is the difference between telescope and periscope sights in tanks, and how they are installed inside, I also know that inside electronic sights with day and thermal channel, there is no space to fit additional night vision, besides why fir there night vision with smaller capabilities than thermal sight? Where is logic?

There are tanks where is night vision equipment, but for tank commander panoramic sight where there is no space to fit much bigger thermal sight. For example Challenger 2 have night vision instead of thermal sight in commander panoramic sight, and when You compare Challenger 2 panoramic sight size, with for example CITV installed on M1A2SEP, You will see that the latter have much bigger size, to fit inside modern thermal sight. Pattern is repeated everywhere.

but common sense is not like the words of gospel.
You can be wrong and the manufacturer knows the best and more.
The larger turret has allowed more goodies.

You still don't understand. Size of a turret have nothing to do with hat sights are used. It depends on size of sights assembly, and sights components. And there is nowhere said that there is night vision device for TC or gunner. If the thermal is small enough, it can be placed in smaller panoramic sight of TC, but this is not common practice, due to some reason, many types of panoramic sights with thermal cameras are rather big, like CITV, PNK-6 or PERI-R17A2.

a more detail one from wiki
explain everyTHING

The gunner is provided with a dual magnification day sight and the commander with a panoramic sight for all-around independent surveillance. Both sights are dual-axis image stabilized and have independent laser range-finders. The tank has true hunter-killer capability, giving the commander the ability to acquire new targets independently while the gunner is engaging another target. The automatic target-tracking system is designed to work when tank and target are both moving. Night vision for the gunner and commander is achieved through a dual-magnification thermal imaging sight. Both sights are integrated with the fire-control system.[21] The production Al-Khalid tank has a fire-control system of western origin. In the MBT 2000, the Chinese Norinco fire-control system has inputs from ten sensors. The ballistic computation time is less than one second. The manufacturer claims routine first round hits on standard 8 ft (2.4 m) square targets at ranges over 2,000 meters.
Effective range: 200 to 7,000 metres
Sensor: laser ranging from 200 to 9,990 metres
French Auto-tracking, interfaced with gunner station, firing four types of munitions, gunner's thermal imaging sight, commander's image intensification night vision sight, gyro-stabilized and UPS power supply system.
