This Is where work needs to be done
In current form kaveri is still skewed towards turbojet compartment
If you look at every kaveri class turbofans every one has larger fan diameter this is where real thrust comes from..
I thing they should at least check ge-404 and try to reverse engineer it....
And if I'm not wrong they haven't made any progress in Crystal blades section either.

I have said several times that DS blades of second generation is preferred over single crystal blades due to SCB requiring Rhenium. India has mastered all of these and the choice is based on practical consideration

Unfortunately that is not a practical compromise for all situations.

For which situation? At most weight increase of the engine by 5-10% may happen due to DS blades which is manageable and a good compromise for higher quantity. Total rhenium production in workd is just 50tons. If India wants to make 200+ planes in a year, there will not be enough Rhenium even in international market

Commercial flights - either you pay for engine or keep paying for fuel.

That is true. But our aim here is only defence planes. Defence transport planes or defence fighter planes don't mind 2-3% fuel wastage.
