I think it's getting IOC shortly.
Army's need is for 387 light helos; they wanted 200 K-226s & the rest as LUHs.
Even though, I feel all 387 could be LUHs!
K-226 deal was in consideration only to please Putin (when Russia was getting annoyed with US-India relations). Modi does this to please the international big wigs - throw them some red meat (big orders) and then get them to endorse India's views. Part of Rafale deal was to get France to endorse Indian view point at international level!
Even I want all 387 to be LUH. Maybe the Army is buying the Kamov to ensure that a grounding of LUH fleet does not cut off supplies from Siachen base camp to forward posts.

Ka-226T was selected in relation to a tender by Army for 197 reconnaissance and surveillance helicopters (RSH). With HAL's track record, it is difficult to state when LUH will actually enter production and even if it enters production will the production rate be enough to satisfy the demand of the services? Ka-226T deal will help in shaving off the overall requirement for such helicopters. I think the RFP has been issued by the IAF for this deal.

Can't see LUH anywhere. Is it in production? Or maybe accepted by the services?
Expected to go into production sometime next year.

HAL has adequate experience designing helicopters (ALH & LCH). There's not too much complexity in LUH other than downsizing - single engine and smaller body!
If they can manage to run it with HTSE-1200, then that would be novel!!

Actually HAL has a decent track record on designing & building helicopters.

Never questioned their expertise, only problem is whether they can deliver it on time.
A brand new production facility to build LUHs in Tumkur is being built since the beginning of this year...

HAL’s rotary wing division seems to be quite settled, they are also making investments in future engine tech and manufacturing facility.

This is what happens when a company has assured orders, they can plan ahead...

S-400 can launch 72 missiles at once, 'booster' to IAF: Chief BS Dhanoa
PTI
PublishedOct 6, 2018, 9:45 am IST

New Delhi: The S-400 Triumf air defence system deal, inked by India and Russia Friday notwithstanding the US pressure of sanctions, can engage up to 36 targets at a time and simultaneously launch 72 missiles.

"This is the most lethal weapons system in the world and it provides four different types of layered air defence," Air Vice Marshal (retd) Manmohan Bahadur told PTI.

The S-400 is based on the S-300PMU2 air defense missile complex. The air defence missile system comprises a combat control post, a three-coordinate jam-resistant phased array radar to detect aerial targets, six-eight air defence missile complexes (with up to 12 transporter-launchers, and also a multi-functional four-coordinate illumination and detection radar), a technical support system, a missile transporting vehicles and a training simulator, experts said.

The S-400 system can also additionally include an all-altitude radar (detector) and movable towers for an antenna post, they said.

The target detection range of this system is up to 600 kilometres and its tactical ballistic missile destruction range varies from five kilometres to 60 kilometres.

Aim is to advance deliveries of the system, though Russia was ready to accede to the condition
The Rs. 40,300-crore deal between India and Russia for five S-400 air defence missile systems does not have any offset clause. India has decided to drop it so as to advance deliveries, though it was Russia that initially did not want offsets.

“They [Russia] agreed for offsets later, but we decided not to include them as it would drive up the cost and delay the delivery schedule,” a defence source said.

Abe, production rate production rate.
I don't have any worries regarding HAL production rate of LCH once it gets firm orders. Dhruv case in point:-

Thirty Dhruv helicopters built by HAL await collection by army and IAF, having been built ahead of time

Why sir? Are we not purchasing just two of the four layers of S400?

FOC is very close now. They are going for the last set of flight test for validating the latest CLAW, avionics and weapon profile. They can finish this in about a month and feel comfortable of clearing the tests. Of no NEW demands come, FOC seems likely by year-end or therabouts.

SP-11 is getting close to get to the air SP-12 and 13 in equipping phase. They should be able to deliver Sp-16 by March of next year.
