where did the sniper rifle come from? looks like OFB got shamed into doing this because of SSS....
unless there is some parallax error, that barrel is thicker than regular standard ammo. is it a new AMR by any chance? c'mon OFB jawab do......
As per esteemed Indian media report its Sniper 336 from ARDE.
Now 336 is WW2 era cartridge. So as usual suspect is that media has fu***d up reporting 338 to be 336 or ARDE has traded off the beaten track and invested time on cartridge design.

But in all likelihood, it seems like to be ARDE version of 338 Lapua Magnum.

according to tender army will also import ammunition as well along with rifles from international market.
Because we don't manufacture 338 lapua magnum. Just a couple of days back we started producing match grade 762x54 cartridges whereas we were using Dragunov for last 2 decades.

Timeline for manufacturing of 50kN non-afterburner variant of Kaveri Engine for Ghatak UCAV.

- Upto 5 Kaveri dry-thrust (DT) engines will be manufactured by or before 2024 for first TDs/series of Ghatak. (1-2 engines per year).

- Upto 15 more Kaveri DT engines will be made from 2024-28. (~4 engines per year).

- Upto 60 more Kaveri DT engines will be made from 2028-32. (~15 engines per year).

Totalling upto 80 Kaveri engines in 12 years for our Ghatak UCAVs.

Ghatak will ofcourse stand up to its name and incorporate many cutting-edge techs from AMCA.
