It sounds like a good idea now because India is just starting to develop serious power projection capabilities and we are not yet a great power (or 'world power' if you prefer) in our own right. India today is very much like U.S. in the late 19th century (actually the similarities extend far beyond the similar state of the two militiaries, but that's a topic for another thread). But once we have a serious military-industry complex things can get out of control very fast if we are not careful. It's what brought down the U.S.S.R and it is what will bring down the U.S.; you should listen to Eisenhower's speech on the topic.I totally identify myself with the US ad aspire the same for India. We are too fvcking timid people. It's time to get more aggressive.
