With Kushner lending support and Trump not backing down(and rest of staff is also not budging - merely giving golmol statements that does not amount to refutation) - Modi will have to refute in parliament - and Trump due his own hubris will give statement to further humiliate Modi. Lets see how this show is going to look like going forward

I dont know - to me its deja vu again. Remember after nau do gyarah scenes were like this -
a) Armitage and Bush were all like : Pakistan will be thrown back to stone age. They were giving statements which were orgasmic to Indians(not unlike earlier Trumpian statements)
b) After above - Musharaff being sly - gave very similar statements/confessions like what imran said and also generously supplied(or sold) Alkeeda no 2 to massa over the years.
c)Full Arms/$ Aid was restored to Pakis. India was literally sidelined in Afghanistan talks.
d) Bush to made same mediation offer and "AFghanistan linked to Kashmir" kind of statements were on and off thrown unofficially by his officals
d) yes all kind of Track Thoo, Trade, Bus, Train, Khacchar & Bhaand trade was allowed(or in reality forced by Unkil) by our govt as peace initiatives. (yes both NDA -1 and UPA were involved)
e) Near the end of every 10 year massa president's term - they suddenly realize they have been taken for ride by Pakistan and they wait for next incumbent president who will repeat a to e

With Kadi Ninda very confidently saying kashmir issue will be solved soon. I dont know man - but I feel there is no smoke without some fire. And I am not confident in Kadi Ninda's statement - but I really fear India might have acquiesced to some "peace plan"

Proper thing to do would be to release the minutes of modi's meeting with orangee (redacting sensitive content first) to prove the whole thing otherwise?

What’re the new developments on this issue?

Only thing is Kudlow(not Kushner) saying that he has no knowledge of the subject, but only objected to Trump being called a liar by the reporter.

Frankly this thread shows why India is far off from being a strong nation.
Some loudmouth, own voice loving president of the US says something and we spend 14 pages - omg our white masters said Pakistan and kashmir and blah blah.

Just ask him to f off and choose: Potential 3rd largest economy, hundreds of millions of middle - high income consumers, strategic position on Indian ocean and just one aircraft mmrca deal worth more than the Paki budget.
Or you can play games with China in that shithole to our North.

What do you think their answer would be?

We in 20-30 years will be a major power, bigger than UK, France, Japan combined.
FFS behave like one.

Already MEA and EAM clarified that they checked the records of the Osaka meeting and they didn't find anything like what trump has said .

We are unnecessarily going to screw our own ass with the tamasha the opposition in parliament do . Trump is returning back to power we don't want US president who keeps abusing us in Tweets every day calling us we are robing US with trade tariffs and bla bla

I just see this incident as another Rafale drama of opposition . now they are not talking about Rafale at all but who was the loser IAF who couldn't go for follow on orders .

Now this time opposition wants Modi only to say something which will irk the Orange man and then screw our own relations with USA

This is exactly want pakis want and this is exactly what opposition and presstitute ISI Media of india is also pushing to achieve .

Sometimes i feel this country is really run by Media not by politicians and not by babus . Presstitutes set the narrative and the nation move towards that narrative only

They happily set Jai shree ram terrorist and we are seeing how every day even thief is getting away saying he was forced to say JSR..:frusty:

Why is it so difficult for Modi to personally (without using spokespersons or Union Ministers) state on Parliamentary record, on the floor of the house, that Trump lied?

Because Trump probably didn't. The Indian and U.S. governments only log official portions of meetings between the PM and POTUS, they don't log smalltalk/informal chit-chat between them.

So Modi is cowering behind spokespersons and ministers because it is true that Kashmir never came up in official conversations between the two heads of state; and the various spokespersons or ministers are only concerning themselves with the official conversations and minutes of meetings.

What Congress is asking Modi is to personally place on Parliamentary record that his mouth never uttered the words "mediation," "arbitration," synonyms thereof, and "Kashmir" in one sentence, in the presence of Trump, at Osaka. That is something Modi isn't ready to do. Why?

The interaction is an official one, Trump as a leader of USA has to utter words which are there in record not private conversations.

Private conversations do not matter here, Trump lied in that sense.

Sometimes I think that India should grow it's economy to 6-7 trillion quickly and then take back POK. Sala panga hi khatam karo. To my commonsense it's the only permanent solution, rest are just waste of brain power.

Your logic is that if Modi refuses to take a dump in the parliament he must surely be constipated!!!

Why on earth would a most nationalist PM ask, of all people, Trump to mediate??? Like the reporter in NYMag said Modi must be thinking that an ‘erratic narcissist’ is the only one who could solve the most complex issue between countries that Trump possibly couldn’t even locate on the map!

Also, Trump is not Obama who is known to weigh his words. He has 10,000+ (and counting) flubs to his record in just the last 2.5 yrs!!!

Does ISI have some compromising info on you?

If beating that particular woman has far-reaching strategic implications for a nation of 1.25 billion people, then yes.
Taking this convo forward for academic purposes...

In this case “loaded statement” “loaded question”, they are designed to elicit an rhetorical response..
========
Since you answered “yes”.
So why were you beating your wife earlier?

The aim of this statement from Trump was obtained by paying Kushner $$$ for Trump's re-election campaign by Paki ******s, is to destroy US - Indo ties.

We need US to waiver CATSAA and get H1B visa at a consistent rate. Modi making a personal statement would jeopardize his upcoming September visit and make Paki ****** aims successful.

I fear Congi collusion with these Paki ******s is responsible for the hurt and cry in RS. Simply sidestep and apply back channel diplomatic pressure.

There is a difference between knowing some one's will and intent and actually requesting the person to do so. No where in any sentence nor even in MEA's response it shows that Trump ever said Modi requested him to intervene. Trump said, " Modi asked if I would like to mediate"

Trump likes to make off hand remarks that bite him in the arse. US House is putting enough pressure. Now it is simple backtracking.

Trump's accusation that Modi asked for mediation is a huge affront to India, and it should be comprehensively nipped in the bud.

If Modi personally calls out Trump, then Congress will have absolutely nothing further to ask. It will be Modi's word against Trump's, since neither governments' records mention Kashmir, and Trump will lose.

What Congress is gambling is that Modi did in fact have a Nehruvian fit, uttered something in Trump's ears during smalltalk to either please/amuse him, which Trump twisted and disclosed as an official request; and that Modi doesn't want to put the contents of a smalltalk on record (or commit perjury by denying it). Another reason could be that Modi doesn't want to destroy his personal rapport with Trump.

If Modi can make one direct statement in Parliament, it will bust Congress and Pakistan.

What Modi is doing now is staying on the right side of the truth, that the Government of India never formally requested President Trump to mediate/arbitrate Kashmir issue. But that's a patchwork, and leaves Congress with ammo.

It will hit Trump's ego and destroy H1B industry and CATSAA waiver chance.

The key is to shout down Congi bitches and simultaneously do PKMKB to the Paki ******s. If party of 303 can't shout down 91 people then shame on BJP.
