What? I thought both "rebels" and Assad are Best Friends with Hezbollah. The article states Hezbollah supports "rebels"

How did that happen?

And it says that Muhammad's great grand daughter's shrine was attacked by Islamists

What just happened to unity in Islamic nations

I am against toppling stable regimes in the Middle East or any Islamic country.

They serve well when they are kept in line by autocratic, dictatorial regimes.

Changing the pattern is only inviting the radicals taking over.

And that is not good for man or beast.

Or maybe OK for beasts!

Check what has just happened in Iraq!

@t_co Never think the US foreign policy is schizophrenic or naive. Instead quite consistent if measured by achieving two aims -

1) to cripple Iran-Hez-Syria Assad triad, and keep Israel safe

2) to subdue Russian clout in Mid East

Exactly, unlike few other world powers, US foreign policy has been the most consistent & coherent throughout all geographies, even when it has proven to be detrimental to their own interests.

You are unaware at true nature of these rebels that the west is supporting.

They are cutting out hearts of syrians and eating it, chanting allah akbar while blowing up a mosque, digging up graves of mohammads companians and burning the bodies etc

Hujr ibn Adi - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

These are basically scum of the highest order and assad is eliminating thousands of these scum and for that he must have the support of the civilized.

So basically Assad is much better than rebels, he is doing good by eliminating them right?

Then Assad is the better choice for peace and stability in Middle East. What is wrong with NATO? Just because Assad doesn't like the West doesn't mean the rebels will worship them.

Of course he is better.

And it will benefit India also if he succeeds. West doesn't give a shit about terrorism, its all lip service! They are governed by national interest only.

'Spiked Ammo' Is One Of Assad's Dirtier Tricks In Syria's Civil War
Geoffrey Ingersoll | Jun. 2, 2013, 1:27 PM

The New York Times C.J. Chivers is in Syria and he's stumbled upon an age-old tactic that's having a devastating effect on Syrian rebel forces.
Called "spiked ammunition," it features a concoction of powder inside a bullet that causes the bullet to explode once the rifle firing pin strikes the round.

As Chivers points out, it's maiming Syrians and destroying their weapons. Not only are fighters left unable to pull a trigger, but their hard-sought after weapons are destroyed in the process.

This truly brutal tactic was used by the U.S. during World War II, reports Chivers, as well as by U.S. Blackwater contractors in Iraq.

C.J. Chivers is the award winning author of "The Gun." He is a former U.S. Marine infantry officer and military small-arms expert.

Excellent. Same thing was done by US undercover agents to Japan in WW2 and in Vietnam. They even spiked Soviet 122 mm howitzers!

Let the islamists die when their gun explodes on their face.

I don't think eliminating a group made of brainwashed volunteers like Hezbollah will be that easy.
They only exist because Syria and Iran props them up. With Shia support wiped out in Syria, their resources and supply routes quickly folds. Add the pressure of Sunnis wanting revenge fighting with Assad... they wouldn't last long. Shias in the Levant are a small minority.

You do mean that the rebels support them right?

Syrian government wants Hezbollah wiped out as they are fighting alongside the rebels.

No, Hezzies support Assad...
And they thrive in Lebanon because of Syrian support. The only good reason for Assad to fall is that it would be good for Lebanon, in my opinion.
