Did China support Pakistan during the Kargil war? The answer is in the affirmative if the claims of Chandigarh-based Brigadier Surinder Singh — who was the commander of the 121-Brigade in Kargil at the time of the war — are to be believed.

In a startling revelation, Singh, who himself was on the front when the 1999 India-Pakistan conflict broke out in Kargil, also claimed that his inputs about Chinese support to Pakistan during the Kargil war were ignored and even K Subrahmanyam, head of the Kargil review committee, made an adverse comment against his statements in the report.

Surinder Singh was the commander of "Kargil Brigade," which looked after 160 km border when the Kargil intrusion took place. The revelations are significant as the brigadier has filed a petition before the military tribunal, Chandigarh, demanding an independent probe into Kargil war. The matter is still pending.

Another country agreed to provide us moving satellite pictures of the battlefield.. after few days, the pictures faded and we were told that the battery of the satellite was about to die. The three chiefs of the Armed Forces made all the noises and even met ISRO chief Kasturirangan apprsing him of the need for our own images. He promised that in three years we will have the satellite and he delivered.

So we had moving satellite images within 3 years of Kargil. This is first time some said that.

Ghaziabad: The Kargil conflict of 1999 has been dragged into the national election campaign in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad, where former army chief VK Singh is a candidate and a large number of former soldiers are voters.

Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan controversially said today that a Muslim was behind the victory of Indian troops in Kargil.

"The soldier who conquered the mountains of Kargil was not a Hindu but a Muslim," Mr Khan said at a rally on Monday in the district neighbouring Delhi.

General VK Singh, who is the BJP candidate for Ghaziabad, today responded to that statement saying, "Indians won the Kargil battle for India."

Ghaziabad will vote on Thursday for the nine-phase national election that ends on May 12. The votes will be counted on May 16.

And you FOOL, I was not talking about Yadavs in IA but those in UP whose boys, husbands, fathers go and serve in IA, and were SLURRED by this remark of Azam Khan. Those families who would know more about brotherhood of IA unlike couch-potatoes like us! How should Yogendra Singh Yadav feel about Azam Khan's remark?! Should not the people who holds the secular ideas above all, like the people in IA vote against the Party which try to polarize on the basis of Religion? If they should, should they not VOTE AGAINST such party? And if so, should the Yadav vote-bank which is one of the 2 pillars of SP, having a large no. of participation in IA, not VOT AGAINST SP?

And, don't come and teach me about IA, as you would make a very poor teacher!
