F**k all these villagers taking video and selfies with the pilot. We have created this tamasha culture in this country which is getting out of hand.

Aside from that, pilot's leg seems totally sheered off. Indicates a very serious mishap.
Unlikely that his leg is sheered off.

More than the plane it self the pilot and there experience is what we are loosing with each crash.

It's a maintenance issue. These HAL fuckers must be hauled for treason and sabotage.

But I thought the maintenance at the airforce stations are done by maintenance team belonging to airforce and not the HAL

Most MKI engines are overhauled at HAL Koraput. Those union motherfuckers have lax standards and a lackadaisical attitude towards work. Engine surges are the major problem here. It's a good thing MKI has two engines else God help us!

Spare parts agreement in September IGA.

India, Russia eye more joint collaborations, pact soon for manufacturing defence spares

India and Russia are all set to sign a major inter-governmental agreement (IGA) on spare parts for defence equipment that will also pave the way for transfer of technology and joint manufacture of products under the Make in India initiative.
IGA inked during the India-Russia Intergovernmental Commission on Military-Technical Cooperation in September in Russia.
A top Russian official said Moscow supports the Make in India initiative and is willing to set up manufacturing facilities in India for spare parts.

India to add more Russian multi-role fighters

New Delhi is expected to cement several arms deals with Moscow at the next session of the Indo-Russian intergovernmental commission on military industrial cooperation, to be held in October, AINonline reported.

These would include a contract on 18 additional kits for the Sukhoi Su-30MKI heavyweight multirole fighter for assembly at HAL’s Nasik plant.

This is the state of Russian defence industry.

Paint isn't even dry on these birds fresh from factory and now they have announced a "deep modernisation"

https://www.interfax.ru/amp/672006

From the looks of it they are rushing to plug gaps found out over Syria.

Now consider the age of our MKI fleet and the fact that we are still churning out new frames based on configuration fixed in 1998 with not incremental modernisation.

Apart from India none other countries are crashing flankers at this rate ... Russia, Algeria, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, China so many operators but why India always score top when comes to crashing???? Either HAL or our IAF is to be blamed.... Flanker is a capable fighter.... So capable that if maintained and upgraded properly we may not even require Rafales.... But poor baby fate is in the hands of HAL chaps who are selected from reservation quota....

In the paki raid after balakot abhinandan might have intruded across the LOC because he wasn't hearing orders to cut the engagement and return back . This may have been due to fault of old radio on his mig 21.
Mig21 is not conducive to SDR.

Such a long post to explain reality. source link posted but you want to hear direct from DRDO/IAF/ADA which is not possible for me. you keep on asking where is source like JNU type intellectual while ignoring basics. please! do tell me who buy 50 missiles for user trial it is not norm for any user trial
You can post me source as you people open your mouth only when you have proof/source so tell me about the date of Astra"s user trial and When it going to be primary BVR missile for Tejas Mk1 ?? show me your source??

https://www.financialexpress.com/de...ce-next-year-another-successful-test/1336126/
Read carefully, Active participation of IAF itself indicating about User trial and Article nowhere mention that user trials will be done separately. The article is saying missile will be inducted next year that means it must have inducted by now ( 1 year for contract, logistics, production ).

Look at more internal sabotage here!

IAF's Sukhoi Su-30MKI Suffers Bird Hit at Jodhpur Airbase, Adjoining Drain Endangers Flight Safety

Does IAF not nest birds of prey near its air fields? It is the easiest way to clear the area of bird flocks. They should also send out daily patrols with shotguns to scare away any nesting birds. It is actually good policy to allow hunters to roam the area.

Most bases are totally surrounded by settlement right upto the boundary wall. Previous Govts long standing lackadaisical attitude towards base security and illegal encroachment of boundary zones has put IAF in a bind in most cases. Most of the options you suggest are not feasible

Having a few birds of prey is an excellent idea. Like how langurs are used to chase away monkeys.

HAL pitches for 4 more squadrons of Su-30MKI

The proposal for manufacturing 72 more fighter jets to add to the current order for 272 was made by the HAL but officials said that the air force has not been keen due to budgetary issues.

State-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) has pitched for an order to manufacture four additional squadrons of the Su-30 MKI jets to quickly meet gaps in fighter squadron strength but the air force seems to be only keen on ordering replacements for aircraft that have been lost in accidents.

The proposal for manufacturing 72 more fighter jets to add to the current order for 272 was made by the HAL but officials said that the air force has not been keen due to budgetary issues. HAL is hopeful that an order for at least 10 additional aircraft is placed this year so that its Sukhoi manufacturing plant in Nasik does not fall idle.

“If we are looking at a strength of 42 squadrons for the air force, the fastest means of getting it is to go for more Light Combat Aircraft and the Su-30 MKI jets. We are currently making 12 of the fighters per year at the Nasik plant,” HAL chairman R Madhavan told ET.

The company has shared cost breakups to manufacture one, two, three or four squadrons, leaving it for the air force to take a call on the numbers that it wants. Sources have told ET that as of now, the air force is only looking at an order of 8-10 more of the jets to make up for accident losses.

A worry for HAL is that if orders for the jets are not placed this year, its manufacturing line in Nasik will go defunct and the base of Indian vendors that it has created over the past decades will get disrupted. HAL currently produces the jets for around ?450 crore each.

“If the order does not come this year, there will be a two year gap before the line can be restarted as we have to order kits and other parts. The vendor base will be out of business and the ramp up after the gap will be both costly and time consuming,” Madhavan said.

HAL’s proposal, which his currently being discussed with the defence ministry, is to supply the additional aircraft at prices that have already been negotiated for older orders by adding the standard annual escalation.

“This is the fastest method to get more fighter jets. The attrition rate of the older MiG 21s and Jaguar jets is very high. Even if a contract is signed with a foreign manufacturer, it will take at least three years to get the first aircraft,” the HAL chief said, adding that the company is awaiting responses to its proposals from the air force and ministry of defence.

The air force, which is awaiting the delivery of its first new Rafale fighter jets next month, is keen on adding to its order for 36 of the French origin aircraft, with sources telling ET that it requires at least two more squadrons.

The concern being a rapidly decreasing squadron strength that currently lies at 30 but is expected to dip rapidly over the next two years as the MiG 21 and 27 series of fighters are retired from service. An ongoing process to select a foreign partner and Indian manufacturer to make 114 new fighter jets under ‘Make in India’ expected to take at least five years and the air force’s worry is that its conventional edge could be blunted due to a lack of numbers.
