HAL is in no position to develop any fuselage wing sections of FGFA, what they will do at the most is integrating mission computers and avionics, like they did in SU-30MKI.FGFA won't be converted into the two seater version being demanded by the IAF, But there is nothing wrong in it as we should have asked for some assurance in the earlier design phase itself.not now, so late into the program.

13 is the APU inlet.

12 holds the APU while creating a base for the fins.

Note: The left air intake duct do not exactly resembles the right intake duct, the same is also true for Su-27 and 30 where these intake ducts are uneven and as usual the right side is larger then the left side.

Re: India russian pakfa problems

The author lives in a parallel universe or is high on LSD+Marijunana. We are already testing MIRV'ed versions of 5000 kms + range missiles, integrating the same with home-grown SSBN's & boast of a state-of-the art ABM shield.

@average american: So, this is the level & quality of your source...:thumb:
Btw, do you even know anything about what lies beyond your state in USA..? Wannabe's like you only reinforce the image of typical American with zilch awareness of milieu. Don't loose heart, come up with something better next time.

. The entire missile program has been scrapped, and tanks program already is doldrums cannot meet the needs of the Indian army.

The Trouble With India's Military

SecuritySouth AsiaIndia

By Nitin Gokhale

The letter by India's Army chief last month blasting the state of the armed forces reflected a troubling reality – India's regional military power aspirations are in danger.

Last month, India's Parliament was up in arms over the leak of a supposedly top secret letter written by Army Chief Gen. V.K. Singh to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. In typical Indian fashion, the uproar – partly spontaneous, partly orchestrated – was at first more about the leak of a highly confidential letter than the critical shortages of weapons and equipment that were pointed to.

Among the problems Singh pointed to were the claim that the Army's entire fleet of tanks is "devoid of critical ammunition to defeat enemy tanks,"the suggestion that the country's air defense were "97 percent obsolete," and criticism that the Elite Special Forces was "woefully short" of "essential weapons."

After the initial din died down, however, the import of the Army Chief's letter gradually dawned on lawmakers asked the government and the Army to explain why the shortages haven't been addressed. Indeed, the shortages are all the more baffling because India's Defense Ministry reported it had spent its full quota of funds in each of the last three financial years, while the Stockholm-based International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) said recently that between 2006 and 2010, India ranked first in terms of arms imports.

An now you are convinced India has a state of the art ABM sheild when no county on earth has one, and India quote""Singh pointed to were the claim that the Army's entire fleet of tanks is "devoid of critical ammunition to defeat enemy tanks,"the suggestion that the country's air defense were "97 percent obsolete," and criticism that the Elite Special Forces was "woefully short" of "essential weapons.""

Re: India russian pakfa problems

Mate, majority of world powers have an ABM shield in some form or the other, in various stages of evolution. Since mid 1960's. Yes. you read it correct. That is why the ABM treaty (cornerstone of all such agreements between the 2 rivals till date) was signed between US & USSR. To limit the deployment of that very shield which would nullify the MAD principle & could be used to work as a offensive deterrence, thus shattering the already fragile peace of Cold War days. Ballistic missile has been a known threat since that era & major powers have taken some or the other steps to ensure some deterrence against that.

Some countries today are having rudimentary research program, some are under US nuclear umbrella, while some have done limited to considerable deployment of interception vehicles. So, you can see that scale & capability differs widely. Now coming to India: For now, our ABM program is no match for what US/Russia had achieved & demonstrated way back in the 90's. We don't see a need for that. But, what we have here (Just google, Indian ABM program: successful tests of PAD, AAD) is more than enough for our taking care of our security needs, commensurate to our threat perception.

Regarding deficiencies in our wartime reserves (especially tank ammunition & air defense), every General worth his salt would ask for the best & most modern for his men, so in every country we keep on hearing such clamors from top military leaders. We are the world's biggest democracy unlike the dictatorial & autocratic regimes US prefers nurturing world over (that too, in name of democracy), so complete freedom of expression is observed in practice & we have nothing to hide.

Regarding special forces, its not for nothing that armed forces contingents from US, UK, France, Russia, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam etc. are regularly (annually, bi-annually & so on) made to undergo several military exercises in Indian Commando schools (ranging from CI warfare & Jungle Warfare to High-Altitude warfare). Because our forces have proven themselves under all sorts of impossible terrains against impossible odds & have perfected doctrines & skills that security forces world over cherish & appreciate.

Now, what do you have to say about your comment " The entire missile program has been scrapped"...do not sidestep, answer this because evasiveness won't do you any good. & then we talk about our tank program. You are in dire need of education (read, awareness/facts) & we are here to help.

Wonder what universe this guy lives in.????

The only thing I said was. "Dont lose heart as you say, denial is the best solution when your up the proverbial creek with out a paddle, the rest is a news article.

troubling reality
Yeah, & to that very bogus article I asked you something, you are evasive about. You need lessons in comprehension, as well. Didn't knew you were linguistically challenged, as well. Anyway, for your benefit, I said & I quote:

13 is the APU inlet.

12 holds the APU while creating a base for the fins.
Guys from KNAZ (former KNAAPO) say that there is engine compartment cooling system intake there among others. It is done to reduce IR signature.

Insiders Info from KNAAZ - The fifth T-50 (T-50-5) is already on the KNAAZ facility flight test station!

It means that it will fly in few months.

Yes, there are at least 4 hardpoints on the wing consoles.
Another 2 are under the intakes.
So, it is rumored that PAK FA can cary up to 10000kg to almost 1000km on Hi-Low-Hi profile when stealth is not required.
Also this speaks about the weapons tests coming soon in Akhtubinsk.

About the latest video on the previous page:

If you can understand Russian, you would learn that PAK FA has exceeded its developers expectations in the fields of supermaneurability and supercruise speed.
Commenting journalist has stated that PAK FA is much lighter than F-22 and its maximal speed is 500 km/h greater than F-22.
It is unknown, what speed has he talked about, afterburned max or supercruise speed. It is possible that this is his own fake addition, but bearing in mind the official status of those video it is unlikely.

Data is short, almost none actually. However progrm-outside experts have calculated that if the PAK FA empty weight is 3 tons less than F-22, then T-50 can reach 2100 km/h supercruise speed using the current 117 engines. This is indirectly confirmed by Mikhail Pogosian. He has stated that Sukhoi company is completely satisfied with 117 engine performance and the engine completely complies all the 5-gen fighter engine requirements on thrust, specific thrust, resource and speed/altitude params.

Also guys from KNAAZ say that T-50-6 and T-50-7 prototypes are in the middle-construction phase now. T-50-7 will not be flyable.
Experts oppinions on T-50-7 purpose has separated to 2 points:
1 - T-50-7 is an RCS measurment and optimizations body.
2 - T-50-7 is another one prototype frame for resource testing while the previous prototype testing gave a lot of data to improve airframe strength and optimize weight. It is also rumored that CM part in the future prototypes and LRIP planes bodies will be significally increased, so they will be tested on T-50-7.

There are the other facts about static version:
1 - T-50-4 has enforcement plates on several parts and those plates must be removed and replaced by internal body strength improvements.
2 - As T-50 has exceeded initial speed parameters, then they must be utilized by more robust body allowing to withstand long 2650 km/h (2.35M) flights.
