During this Sri Lankan crisis, the truth of Chinese extractive trade traps and active sabotage of its relationship with India must be highlighted repeatedly. Also how the Chinese groomed a whole breed of vicious Sri Lankan propagandists who on multiple forums sow seeds of discord against Indians.

It must also be highlighted how Indians and our leadership kept highlighting these visible and discreet anomalies yet kept their composure not to snap the ties for sake of maintaining a tranquil relationship with its immediate neighbour.

GoI needs to do whatever it takes to maintain favorable govts and public perception and dependence on India of the neighboring countries like Nepal, Lanka, Maldives, Myannmar and Bangladesh( ofc favorable public perception is not possible here lol )

I have seen SL experts talk like Indian foreign ministry people .. " yes India is a great friend that is helping us they have given xyz .. this is in line with PM Modis neighbourhood first policy "

Most are on their payroll, both domestic Lankans and foreign.
It's like how in the 3 baltic countries, Poland an anti-Russian sentiment has been strengthened, and attempts were made to do the same in the ex-USSR 5 Stan' countries by the West.

I guess eventually comes a point when the Lankans or any target group are so saturated by anti-Indian propaganda that even if an "expert" talks against China and takes a moderately pro-Indian stance he will be ignored at the bare minimum.
Even now as you say the blame is being fully put on Gota, you have deflationary statements like "China only makes up for 10% of Lanka's debts" and all.

Why doesn't India invade and occupy Sri Lanka? Any sane regional power would have done this. We can even sweep aside their military with ease and I doubt they would even fight back.

But current situation is not a good sign. Without a political and government system movement of aid materials become difficult with various groups tries to capture and do some shits. People of Srilanka should restrain themselves and try to survive their worst period.
