Israel Weapon Industries to begin assault rifle production in Vietnam - IHS Jane's 360

Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) has established in Vietnam a production facility to support its supply of Galil 31/32 ACE assault rifles to the Vietnam People's Army (VPA), state-run news agencies in Hanoi have reported.

The production unit will supply an unspecified number of the ACE assault rifles to "gradually replace" the AK-47s currently used by the VPA, said reports published last month.

The rifles are being manufactured at Factory Z111, which is based in the northern Thanh Hoa province and owned by the Ministry of Defence, suggesting the production of the rifles is a collaboration between IWI and the VPA.

China and Russia lost the deal.

Nowa Fabryka Broni - Altair Agencja Lotnicza

New Arms Factory "Archer" in Radom were "inducted in to service" today. And this was a good occasion to actually present the real (not mockup model) bullpup variant of MSBS.

It is confirmed that bullbup and standard MSBS share 80% of components and have common upper receiver.

Did any of you guys hear about the double barrel AR-15 from Israel. Seems impractical, but would pack a major punch for special missions !!!

seems like an innovative product, but is such an assault rifle reliable for special missions ?

Yesterday some new photos and informations about MSBS were unveiled as well as bullpup variant prototypes were presented and fired.

MSBS-5,56B.

Comparrision of MSBS-5,56 and MSBS-5,56B, both ariants have the same 406mm barrel.

New modified upper and lower for MSBS-5,56.

Here are late prototyps of MSBS-5,56 with first two prootypes of MSBS-5,56B, what is interesting tough, is that MSBS-5,56B prototypes are not complete new builds. These were also a test of modularity, and successfull one as well. These two bullpup prototypes use upper receivers and 80% of components from standard variant. This proves that MSBS can be sucessfully and easily reconfigured from standard to bullpup version and vice versa if only components for such conversion are provided.

And this is not an end of the project, it seems our engineers are very ambitious.

The standard and bullpup variants will have each 4 variants:
Standard rifle
Carbine
Magazine fed machine gun
Marksman rifle

However three new weapons based on MSBS concept are in development, first is just presented automatic shotgun:

Second will be representative rifle for representative battalion of Polish Armed Forces.

And finally third will be belt fed machine gun.

It is also said that when basic 5,56x45mm ammunition variant will be finished, more versions of MSBS for different ammunition types will be developed.

Another weapon system that was presented was new military pistol, however no good photos are avaiable yet, because work with patents were not finished yet.

More you can read below with translator.

@Kunal Biswas sir,i have finally found the specifications of the AR M-1(improved AKM) manufactured by Arsenal & Co. Bulgaria which is currently used in sizeable numbers by the Indian security forces. So sir,how do you compare this assault rifle with the one(AKM) made by the O.F.B.?I mean sir can you provide the specs of the O.F.B. made A-7 assault rifle so that we can compare these two?

This thread has no merit. It should be combined with threads discussing assault rifles.

Pray tell me the exact reason behind your observation!!This assault rifle is being used in huge quantities by the Indian security forces including personnel of the Rashtriya Rifles. The M.H.A. has recently purchased over 100,000 of these to equip the C.A.P.F.s and the state police forces.Heck even C.O.B.R.A. use this along with the X-95 as their primary assault rifle. So this rifle deserves it's own thread due to it's widespread usage among the Indian security forces:rolleyes:

re: AR-M1, Arsenal made assault rifle used by the Indian Forces

This is the Bulgarian cheap copy of the real rifle.

Indian army had refused this copy, hence BSF and others fighting insurgency etc. do use it.

It is not made in India in large numbers. Just sufficient copies have been procured for paramilitary forces.

Indian Army's standard issue today is INSAS, before that FAL and before that Leenfield.

The Bulgarian copy is not extensively sold although it is at third the price of the real mccoy.

All the above performance data is a suspect as the manufacturer usually gloat over his product. If it is as good as it says then it will not bselling so cheap.
