Ak 203 will only reach the IA on the day when the sun rises from the West and sets in East.

I don't know the sequence but once production takes place a batch of 1000-5000 is sent for testing which is randomly tested by officers trained for the role .

They select these rifles randomly and these are fired for days and checked thoroughly and then after approval from all of them they will be inducted.

Afterwards production will begin. This sequence of testing will be done everytime though but next time batch will be larger.

Any weapon trials happen in four phases
1. The competition; the most exhaustive one where each competitor's gun shoots thousands of rounds in different condition
2. Pre production trials; after a gun a selected the army (or any force) orders some minor tweaks like we want the selector to be slightly longer or the grip should be smaller so all the changes are validated in this
3. Then you have acceptance trials; where each production gun is supposed to fire certain number of rounds in each fire mode...only after which it can be dispatched to units
4. Last is field or deployment trials; after let's say an year or two of deployment in field army gives input about improvement and you get things like Mk-1A or Mk-1 Mod 1

This seems like they're making is as slow as possible

and despite all these "developments" current form of AK-12 is having very mixed reputation among russian armed forces, i was forwarded some posts by a fren from various ruusi teligram groups where first hand users were complaining about it in these terms
but before moving forward let's clarify a bit,
they call 2016 model as "Gen 1" AK-12, 2021-22 era model as "Gen 2" AK-12 and this new one in last is "Gen 3" and so on
now plus-minuses that they discussed
+ same controls as older AKs, transition towards it was easier
- they overwhelmingly dislike the polymer buttstock on Gen 2 and following AKs, simply because it's fragile, a guy was mentioning he fired 5 some grenades off GP-34 UBGL on his AK-12 Gen 2 and at 5th shot buttstock broke off, its overall shape is focused around keeping it compact for troops carrier etc roles rather than sturdiness
- they don't like handguards on AK-12 much either, in some production batch they were quite loose that it rattled in hand and in general they find it 'shorter' in length for comfirtable grip; this was among the most gripeful thing for those soldiers who fought in the SMO and feedback was provided regd this to the Kalashnikov concern and they produced newer handguards with much better fitting and supplied them to these guys which they called satisfactory
~ iron sights, mixed reviews, they like it way that it's lengthened in terms of sight radius but they overall dislike idea of completely replacing v-notch of older AKs with a single aperture, as without cheek riser it's quite uncomfirtable to aim down on it and take effective shots, 'specially with that Gen 2 stocks - reason they getting a cheek rest on Gen 3; they desire v-notch over aperture
one complain was that in rainy-muddy etc environments all the things water and dust and all start accumulating around aperture and obstructs aiming, they have to constantly blow it and use stick-like things to scrap it out and they call it 'tunnel vision sights' because of its aiming nature; they are just too accustomed to open sights v-notch and all and desire it back
- idea of two-round burst on AK-12 is quite disliked by most soldiers, it's deemed unnecessary addition and in Gen 3 they got rid of that
- they don't like muzzle brake on Gen-1 and Gen-2 AKs because except state provided suppressors and other muzzle mounted things they are incompatible with aftermarket stuff (this is indication that they're also buying these things off international market ?)
+ they love picatiny rails and mind you, desire for better optics-scopes like EoTech which they consider miles better than their local kopy holographic one, but in general optics issuance is still not that universal and streamlined so they mostly rely on iron sights -> and as i mentioned above they don't approve of current aperture sight only on it much
- many don't approve of ammo indicator window design of mag, thinking it's rather dumb idea that in close quarter battle your enemy can easily see the avaiable ammo before you do by tilting your rifle and check it, many even put electic tape on their magazines to just hide it, they liked idea of ammo indicator but don't approve of its position in front
- they dislike Gen 2 and Gen 3 thing of monolithic, single piece design of pistol grip + magazine lock-release - trigger guard, simply because it's a custom design to these newer AK rifles only and cannot be replaced with aftermarket grips without getting those extra parts back from other AK rifle parts
~ many are still not satisfied much with picatiny rail top cover design, they think whatever Zenitco and other aftermarket kits makers offered for traditional AK-74M was sufficient and better

overall AK-12 isn't liked much compared to what they have in AK-74M with picatiny rails and other kits, there are accusations that current Kalashnikov Concern isn't entirely state operated company, as there are some private investors from Greece and Cyprus in the firm

Gen 3 is considered improvement as it's got newer design iron sight with flippable apertures, removal of 2-round burst and ambidextrous thumb operated fire selector etc; but one major gripe also is that AK-12 in current form almost costs 100 thousand ruble each, which is about twice the price for two AK-74M vanilla; so many of them think it's rather prefereble to just put rails on AK-74M and get western optics than getting AK-12
