“So its Small Arms Factory vs Lokesh Machines Limited for the Development contact of ASMI Sub-Machine Pistol. Kalyani got rejected due to this reason”
Such an absurd demand...if a product is able to pass trials based on technical grounds then what purpose does such a thing fulfills. This is practically limiting not ony a bigshot like Kalyani but other emerging small arms manufacturers like Astr Firearms, SSS and so simply because they weren't doing this dhandho before or didn't get orders in past. 🤷‍♂️ Their present (as well as armed forces') is being affected by this absurd demand.

Reminder that Gaston Glock, the guy behind famed Glock series of pistols, was just a curtain rods manufacturer-seller before starting making defense maal and even his first one was combat knives, polymer casing for hand grenades, entranching tool (faavdaa basically) etc stuff for Austrian army. He only made actual firearm for famed RFP replacing older service pistol in Austrian Army with newer one that had strict criterias for safety and reliabilities and defeated an established manufacturer like Steyr that supplied their AUG to the Austrian Army in past with his Glock pistol - and from there Glock became a world renowned design as well as the brand itself that popularised striker fired pistol so much that even US of A had to switch to that design in recent Beretta M9 replacement program with their own design by Sig Sauer.
Imagine if Austrian Army had enacted such demands that only those guys would be allowed that has sold some xyz amount worthy of maal to us in past = world would have never seen Glock.

Likewise what kind of indigeneous 9mm weaponry was purchased by them from private vendors in past here to start with...and Lokesh Machine Limited is passing this criteria ? What did they manufacture-supplied-sold in 9mm ? Sterling SMG ? Pistol Auto 9mm A1 ? 9mm version of JVPC ? that Anamika SMG ?
Last two were barely some prototypes so in case they provided them these ones then it crossed above 50 lakh just for sample prototype manufacturing ?!

Something sketchy is going on here, I hope Kalyani and other contestants take appropriate legal action if in case Lokesh Machine Tools gets the contract and can’t prove that they’ve cleared the criteria or make a representation to MoD to ask them what the hell is going on and sorting it out.

The only sketchy thing which i see here is that the OFB is flexing it's muscle in MOD.

Imagine supplying howitzers and armoured personnel carriers and what not to Indian Army for years.....and then ultimately getting rejected just because you have not supplied 9mm worth 50 lakhs.

There are certain people from defense side that just don't like Kalyani citing he is scamster reee stuffs he makes is loicensed ones not "truly indigeneous" reee "BHARAT-52 IS AUSTRIAN GHN-45 HOWITZER MADE HERE NOT INDIGENEOUS REEEE" and whatever,
yeah as if OFB is any different lol, almost 90 percent of weaponry made by them is loicensed or kopied only, rest we have some derivative works like INSAS series from ARDE and Shivalik Grenades etc, baaki kya khud se banaya hain OFB aaj tak ?

Anyway wayy around 2018 if i remember correctly, on Facebook Messenger i was informed by a friend from Uttar Pradesh that then order of some hundreds of JVPC by a certain state police units was supposed to be manufactured in Kanpur SAF, his cousin worked there as accountant etc, this cousin guy was observing some ghotala in raw material purchases and so but what a mere accountant can do about it...back then i mostly kept mum over it and mostly pointed it out on teligram and such closed groups but yeah 🤷‍♂️
^Those who want to point out at Kalyani for alleged issues and so and blindly supporting OFB because it's serkaari whatever better look at their internal corruptions first that more than often results in defective products and the armed forces then have to import it from elsewhere.

From Lewis Machines & Tools (LMT) to Lokesh Machine Tools (LMT), Indian Army surely knows how to upgrade standards with swag 😎.
Now c'mon Lokesh Machines here are fine, someone on teligram pointed out they made-supplied parts and assembly for MAG 58 and such things so at least they have some experience and capabilities. They are also competing for ARDE 5.56mm Carbine tender.
The only objectionalbe thing here is this absurd requirement of 'should have supplied min 50 lakh worth of 9mm weaponry' which given to known realities is a damn hard thing to fulfill, hence there are doubts over what did Lokesh Machines actually provided to fulfill this criteria plus NEED for such thing to start with that outright limits emerging manufacters to even participate in the tender.

How does such absurd requirements even pass the table? I mean does absolute NPC sit there or their pockets are warmed generously.

If I remember correctly that carbine tender also had a similar requirement. Let's see if they are shortlisted for that one too.
