Uh why complicate the MG situation again though? We’re already buying Negevs and if we order more in larger quantities PLR can make them here only.
This Russian MG is meant only for their SF units, and has some expensive features like the balanced automatic system from the AEK 971 SF rifle and is more complicated, hence the Russians are issuing it only to SF units and no 5.45x39 version for regulars due to its complicated nature. (@Johny_Baba could you tell us more about the system and it’s pros and cons).
IMO OFB should stick with its shortened FN MAG as it’s a design they’re comfortable with and can make further modifications and improvements. They must also try to make improved 7.62x51 ammunition for the Sig 716, new snipers of this category and new LMGs which have shorter barrels than the old FN MAGs.

That is exactly a PKM, an aluminium PKM to be more precise; just turned upside down.
And without a quick change barrel.

These are a very niche class of weapon, where you sacrifice long sustainable firing capability for weight.
FN Evolys is an example of same. Same goes for Stoner LMGs.

What we currently need is a MG that has a service life in excess of 50K. Coz we already have Negev and Mini/Maximi to do what OTs-128 is supposed to do.

CAPF aren't gonna get any modern MG most likely they will go for the OFB made one army has a competition going on for machine guns now.which most likely is gonna be won by negev 7
