Guys, keep a watch on Kalashnikov Concern activities,
you may see a new iteration of AK-12 with recent 'PPK-20' pattern thumb operated fire selector installed on it

source, Vlad Onokoy's recent video

postscript -> it seems Kalashnikov guys are finally giving up on AK style fire selector and replacing it with ambidextrous thumb safety, now that big ass "fire selector" just covers charging handle slot when gun is put on safe, once a user actuates thumb operated fire selector it moves down to open up charging handle slot and vice versa, that is if a user puts it back on safe it would move up and cover the slot again.
in simpler terms, it's primary functionality is been mostly replaced with newer thumb operated fire selector and only purpose of that thing now is to cover charging handle slot when on safe...so previous "Safe-Full Auto-Semi Auto" modes using that big selector are not valid anymore...
...kinda mumbo jumbo thing i would say if they want to give up on this 'traditional' selector and adopt to ambidextrous thumb operated selectors...like why even keep it there...just replace it with FNC style spring loaded 'curtains' or better SG550 style rubber curtains

Is the PLR system capable to manufacture any firearms in this facility, not just IWI stuff, if given the design?

If yes, then it is a huge value addition, compared to the shroddy machine shop floors we find in OFB factories like RF Ishapore.
Bro, we have a market for M-LOK accessories. But even private companies are shying away from manufacturing those. These are not even tech intensive stuff, like say rail covers for Handguard or Galil Ace type slide on hand guard for Sig 716 / picatinny rail adapters that can fit on M-LOK slots. These are some basic stuff that I was expecting from someone like PLR / SSS/ bharat forge to come up with. Sigh.

it's time for us to do away with ak styled rifles and go for AR styled instead, you can keep adding accessories according to the mission and its accurate as well, can be controlled on full auto, happy that we atleast went with sig 716, it would be great if equip our army with sigs instead of ak.

AKs are here to stay, easy to clean, maintain, field strip, less prone to jams and is reliable af, I don’t think a common infantryman needs M4A1s.
