saya i thought just the opposite way you thought...even though insas is the main stay weapon, now days 99% of shooting comes under the class of counter insurgensy ops and there is very less action in LOC and border..and the preferred weapons of choice in ct ops are AK and VZs and tavors...tavors are already equipped with these accessories..so thats why iam advocating equipping Kalashnikovs first..remember US army equipped M4s designed for CQBs with these accessories eventhough M16s were the main battle rifle at that time...
but the sad fact is that we could only argue here..i dont think the govt is gonna to upgrade either insas or ak

alby small things can increase the efficiency of these weapons with red dot sight. only problem is these things would cost around 25000/- per rifle and here is where the babus of MOD are going to put break on these upgrade saying these rifle does not need these things.

here is something which is in my mind for very long time.
along with PEQ16A
both of these are going to improve the combat efficiency of soldier and it will also increase the moral as they dont have to come in the line of fire, while doing their duty.

The TKB-408 assault rifle has been developed by designer German A. Korobov by 1946. This weapon has been designed in Tula, for 1946 Soviet Army trials for anew assault rifle. Usually claimed as a first military-type automatic rifle of bullpup configuration, this weapon, in fact, has been preceded by several designs that appeared during the WW2 in Great Britain and USSR (i.e. Korovin7.62mm experimental assault rifle of 1945). This weapon was tested by Soviet Army commission in 1946-47, but was found unsatisfactory; eventually, trials were won by Kalashnikov AK rifle.
