If we end up making the Sig 716i our standard rifle, I believe SIG SAUER can provide a good discount for their LPVOs(Tango6t) and their fixed power sights(Tango 4 or 5), for our front line infantry and sf.
For the rest holos or red dot sights are sufficient if they really need it and iron sights are always there.
We can also use few of the Sigs as DMRs too with better scopes .

Holo and Red dots on BRs is a bad idea, we need LPVOs or magnified optics. Assault Rifles themselves need magnified optics in NATO while we are thinking of iron sights on SiGs.

Most of NATO too, NATO doctrine is influenced by American experience from middle East only
And IRISH still use the SLR Battle rifles albeit heavily modified
This and add to the fact that most experienced of IA is limited to LoC and CI/CT ops, Special Forces too probably
That's probably why the iron sights and HOLOs on limited numbers

Tango 6(1-6x24mm) LPVO, Cost=1300-1500$
Bravo 5(5x30mm) fixed power, Cost=$439, more affordable than ACOG but not battle proven and lacks Tritium power.

I believe some components are outsourced from China
Like the SIG Romeo for example, I may be wrong on lpvo
If given a sweet deal, they may switch their manufacturing hub to India

How important is a Tritium and fibre optic powered sight vs a battery powered one?
Sig Bravo 5 has a 40,000 hour battery life.

That would be really good, but say we put Sig optics on a Sig rifle and SUPPOSE a Sig carbine is also chosen , we may be putting too many things in one basket. What if the next trigger happy President of the US sanctions us?

Sanctions on guns are not that much impactful.but I also think we shouldn't put all eggs on one basket

Only strategic stuff matters in sanctions, they can however block sales

Yesterday we spoke about INSAS modernisation, what about modernised MCIWS? As now it is no longer modern in its existing form and could pssibly be modded upto existing and future standards.
It can theoretically get a MLOK pattern Handguard as it has the charging handle behind the Dust cover, and a discrete gas block in front
Then it would pretty much be a desi Sig 516 but with Gas operated/rotating bolt instead of a Short stroke piston as in most ARs
