The USA learned to build the roads from the German Autobahns. They also learned sophisticated rocket manufacturing technology from the German engineers, scientists, and others after the WW2 German defeat. The Germans pioneered many technologies from? Anybody's guess. Did the historic Indian literature provide them guidance?

The Germans did pour a lot of time/effort into Vimana Shastras and for that matter all things Vedic - because they fell into the delusion that Germans were the Aryan ancestors & as such laid ownership on everything Vedic!

That said, Germans (&Europeans in general) did boost their scientific & industrial capabilities immensely during at industrial revolution (enabled by the the business prospect of free raw materials from their colonies & not to mention the captive markets in the colonies!).

India did exceedingly well in the science & engineering space couple of thousands of years ago....but in the recent centuries lagged behind drastically due to Mughals/British suppression AND the caste system! (remember that most inventions are made by people toiling in those respective fields....Indian system that denied education to the working class suffered immensely where engineering innovations were concerned).

For what it matters, India did bring back some German engineers that helped build HF-Marut!!!

In its 5th year, the failure of the Modi government to increase the quantity of heavy artillery available is stark. This was the one purchase that could have been done locally and wouldn’t have broken the bank. It’s only now in the 5th year that we have seen some orders planned. Larger deals like Rafale are needed no doubt but let’s face it, we are hesitant to even use heavy artillery to avenge an outrage; what chances that we will send Rafales across the LC....

We have been using artillery on LoC since 2016. There are ample media reports to confirm this. Decision to use it in a particular situation lies with the field commanders. As far as Rafale is concerned it depends upon the larger picture. If we are in a skirmish, to use Airforce or not is a strategic decision. For e.g in 1999 Kargil we decided not to use IAF so as to prevent a full blown war. But once IAF enters the theatre it does not matter whether we use Rafale or Mig21. Then its entirely as per ground situation.
