One was written on the same day the SMO started and the other was the day after. I can't explain this to you. We lived in the same country and understand them. I said even before the war: the Russians will not be able to capture even Chernigiv. Why is Poland rearming so intensively - because they lived in the socialist camp and do not want a repeat.
Western experts are just Western experts. Many of them are still confident that the largest tank battle during WW2 was near Kursk, although it was larger at Dubno and the USSR shamefully lost it.
