It also brought Ukraine into a permanent war. One fact I'm very confident about is the kill ratio. For every 1 Russian dead at least 4 Ukrainians are killed. It's probably 5 to 1. The long run favors Russia, not Ukraine as you suggested. Russia doesn't need to ever use a nuke, they could just carpet bomb Ukraine to dust.
Why such a small proportion. Let's go 1 to 100.
In all the wars of the past, the Russian Empire / USSR, Ukrainians were in the Russian army. Now, out of anger, you ate all the tables, because you see where the real warriors are.

It's all too confusing. For us, there are borders of 1991, and we will liberate that before them. For Russia Liman, Kherson or Simferopol are legally equivalent as Kursk or Belgorod. Putler, by his decree, brought Russia into a permanent war, and it will continue regardless of the rulers until one of the parties adopts a new Constitution.
Why can’t Ukraine capture Kursk and Belgorod and conduct a referendum there?

thats how you can bring war on stalemate and exchange territory by signing ceasefire?

The strikes of Russian missiles on the positions of the Ukrainian army were filmed by one of the servicemen of Ukraine, the place where the Russian missile strike was carried out is not reported.

During the combat operation of the Russian Pantsir air defense system in Ukraine, one of the missiles flew right over the heads of the soldiers. Apparently the target for which the Pantsir air defense system worked fell too low.

The crew of a Ka-52 helicopter fired an Izdeliye-305E missile into a BMP-2 of the Ukrainian army. Russian 305E missile can be used at a distance of up to 14.5 kilometers

Do you know russian conscripts have to buy their own regular uniforms and helmets? We're not even talking about winter uniforms here.
Russian conscripts are also expected to purchase the cheapest sanitary pads, plus the cheapest tampons that will be used to plug bullet wounds and render first aid.

Russian conscripts are also advised to their own hydrogen peroxide and tourniquets.,

Russian conscripts are required to buy personal equipment at their own expense.

Yes, this forum was unjustly deprived of the memes of that time.
Sad.
The big show and tell in Kremlin demonstrates that their army is still not as much as a priority as it is to keep the public pacified with propaganda.

From telegram .

In the Kherson region, the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine used HIMERS with cassettes for the first time⚡

This is reported by @wargonzo sources in this direction. We are talking about M26 unguided projectiles with cluster munitions. This is a barbaric weapon. It is worth saying that all modifications of this ammunition are discontinued in the United States of America. It is because of the disastrous consequences of their use. However, as it turned out, Ukraine received them.

Very nice stuff. You'll have to see the video to appreciate the effect.

So....
Key changes and their results to look out for -

Ukraine will get the Lend-Lease activation goodies, already Poland has started transferring higher-tech items than ever before + training dependencies.

Against

Russia's order for mobilization and according to many sources, the actually number is more than 1 million. (to be drafted, how many actual remains to be seen)

Metal against Meat if you ask me...

Objectively speaking, the Russian campaign against Ukraine would be one for the history books and military colleges, on how NOT to wage a war. The age old adage comes to mind, as said by the man who led the allied forces from D-day to Hitler's suicide:

It is not very difficult for a person on the actual ground or in the far away office to make a strategy plan. You can make hundreds of those in a day.. but the realisation of those plans will always depend on logistics.

I think that if the Russians are able to stop axing themselves in the foot and understand how to actually manage logistics, and disable the enemy's ability to manage his logistics, they can make great strides in the battlefield. Ukraine with HIMARS has done exactly this.

Russia has been falling back for 6 months now. Advancing further is out of Question,& even to stem further loss Russia needs massive mobilisation of industry & men. 300K soldiers will not be enough and there is no indication that industrial output is being ramped up on war footing. Russia has by now lost technology edge against Ukraine in the war and now needs manpower to overwhelm them. I say, Russia needs to mobilise 2x compared to Ukraine, which means around 2000K soldiers rather than only 300K.

True, but this capability is honed and grown over time. What now?

The problem with Russians is that they have vertical doctrine (i.e. they are top heavy).
Unless order doesn't come from main boss no action will be taken.

This is a well documented problem in conscription based armies compared to voluntary service armies.

Do you actually think with the US federal debt now close to 31 trillion, that we can afford to keep paying Ukraine?
For US army, funding Ukraine is the most effective way to spend money and an opportunity that appears once in a lifetime. For a price of a couple of tens of billions of dollars (while MoD annual budget is over 700bn of USD), it can cripple Russian army for a decade while promoting and testing their gear in combat conditions, what´s there to not to like about it? They only have to take care not to demilitarize Russia too fast, so Putin doesnt go nuclear.

Russians have lost a lot of material and men. They have to fight smart now. In my opinion:

I think the first thing that Russia needs to do is blow up the entire power grid of Ukraine. Then blow up every train station, train yard and train control centers across the country. You can only transport so much through roads, and even there you have the task of blowing up connecting bridges. Long term logistics for Ukrainians are gone.

The second thing - blow up all the communication centers(relays, communication towers, transmit/receive dishes, ..). Communications blackout, enemy can not coordinate at long levels until they repair those units, and Starlink can not provide communications en masse.

The third thing would be to actually train and equip the mobilized. Body bags don't help overtake the enemy positions..

I think by doing this to some effect, they can reverse the situation around. I think the soldiers on the ground are better aware and have more situational awareness, so somehow the needs of the soldiers need to be able to be heard on the top, by officials who are not appointed by nepotism or bribery. This is difficult to achieve, but Russians will have to accept this and turn the situation around, or they will suffer a humiliating defeat.. Lyman is gone and with it, maybe the LPR too, soon.
