106 MM RCL
Can be used from bunker protection or higher grounds. The RCLs are given to Towed Arty to protect them from unexpected attacks.In the plains a 100 KG vehicle mounted RCL is a liability and a soft target because there is no Armour Protection
BMPs and Tanks are the only armoured vehicles in plains
The Towed Arty and the LORRIED Infantrymen are all soft targets
@KunalBazooka
Bazooka is the common name for a man-portable recoilless rocket antitank weapon, widely fielded by the U.S. Army. Also referred to as the "Stovepipe", the innovative bazooka was amongst the first-generation of rocket propelled anti-tank weapons used in infantry combat. Featuring a solid rocket motor for propulsion, it allowed for high-explosive anti-tank (HEAT) warheads to be delivered against armored vehicles, machine gun nests, and fortified bunkers at ranges beyond that of a standard thrown grenade or mine. The universally-applied nickname arose from the M1 variant's vague resemblance to the musical instrument called a "bazooka" invented and popularized by 1930s by U.S. comedian Bob Burns.
During World War II, German armed forces captured several bazookas in early North African[2] and Eastern Front encounters and soon reverse engineered their own version,[2] increasing the warhead diameter to 8.8 cm (amongst other minor changes) and widely issuing it as the Raketenpanzerbüchse "Panzerschreck" ("Tank terror")
Agreed they are portable and disposable anti-tank weapon but they are recoiless.@Kunal
@Subhamsaikia
What you are showing is portable and disposable anti tank weapon system which may be either a rocket or a missile. Nothing to do with RCL.
Kindly notice. The soldier in the picture is wearing an Indian made DM Shoes. Also the vehicle seems to be a gypsy. Both the chasis and the tyre have resemblance to IA Gypsy King.B 300
In order to make any thing recoilless, one has to balance the forward thrust and backblast. in Manportable weapons, the forward thrust is achived by constantly burning rockets. How then it becomes recoilless when forward thrust is much more. These hit targets as these have seekers. Have you ever fired a rocket launcher such as Bazooka or RPG? There is nothing RCL about those.Agreed they are portable and disposable anti-tank weapon but they are recoiless.
balance of momenta ensure that the momentum of the rifle/projectile/exhaust gas system is conserved without imparting much momentum (recoil) to the rifle itself. Irrespecticve of what its projectile is. Its still a RCL because of the principles it is using. The simple RCL concept has been used to develop newer and better armament and Bazooka clearly was one of them.In order to make any thing recoilless, one has to balance the forward thrust and backblast. in Manportable weapons, the forward thrust is achived by constantly burning rockets. I think you are wrong.Dynamit Nobel Gmbh , Defense .
weapons for urban warfare
All our weapons can be fired out of confined space and at short distances (<20 m) -
I think you are wrong.
Recoilless weapons are most useless for confined spaces and urban warfare due to their back blasts.
I think you have rockets and missiles which are man portables in mind but those are not called RCL systems.
So again the Same RCL principle is used.Since venting hot gases to the rear can be dangerous in confined spaces, some recoilless guns such as the Armbrust and MATADOR use a combination of a countershot, smoothbore barrel and pistons to avoid both recoil and back blast. The fin stabilized Armbrust "cartridge" contains the propellant charge between two pistons with the warhead in front of one, facing forward, and an equal countermass of shredded plastic in front of the other piston. Upon firing, the propellant expands rapidly pushing the pistons outward. This pushes the projectile forwards towards the target and the countermass backwards providing the recoilless effect. The shredded plastic countermass is quickly slowed by air resistance and is harmless at a distance more than a few feet from the breech. The pistons jam at the ends of the barrel trapping the hot propellant gases inside. All this allows safe firing in enclosed spaces.
Recoilless system was engineered to achieve accuracy of aimed fire which is required to be of high degree against tanks. Usually no recoilless shell or shot employs seekers and guidance.It is only gun accuracy. Man portable anti tank weapons and missiles employ guidance to targets or seekers and there is nothing RCL about its firing.balance of momenta ensure that the momentum of the rifle/projectile/exhaust gas system is conserved without imparting much momentum (recoil) to the rifle itself. After you fire two shots, No 2 gunner will be all wrapped with expandable plastic shreds and smoke. Dhuwan Hi Dhuwan to choke them out of life....What is the size of a normal bunker or small room in Urban areas ??So again the Same RCL principle is used.
Wiki detailed, Bazzoka rounds are not rocket propelled..@Kunal
It is rocket propelled anti-tank weapon and not recoilless weapon
There is a vast difference between the two
you had copied that para from Viki only..Wiki detailed, Bazzoka rounds are not rocket propelled..
KB , please guide me , rocket propelled rounds are not RCL ?Wiki detailed, Bazzoka rounds are not rocket propelled..
As per the rule the rounds dont have rocket motor...KB , please guide me , rocket propelled rounds are not RCL ?
I got this from the web : Modern Firearms - Panzerfaust 3As per the difination the rounds dont have rocket motor...
RPG-2 is a RCL
RPG-7 is not..
