Libyan War:
RCL backblast..
RCL backblast..
Kargil actually was a good test lab for RCLs and they did pretty well too... I think extremely capable for close combat and firing at higher positions. I agree, precision is less but then does damage too..That maybe the case, but then RCLs are heavy, especially the 106.
It is not as accurate as a guided missile.
Hence, not of the same hit probability.
Larger emplacement if in defence.
Larger silhouette.
It is huge compared to the Missles and takes longer to set up.
And so many other factors!

Misquote - Karl Gutavs which are RCLs in classification.I was in Kargil.
Where exactly were RCLs used?
Carl Gustav is not an RCL Gun; at least not in the Indian Army.Misquote - Karl Gutavs which are RCLs in classification.
IPakistan Army uses the RPG 7 not IndiaCarl Gustav is not an RCL Gun; at least not in the Indian Army.
It is the replacement for the 3.5" Rocket Launcher.
IA had 57mm RCL for the Mountains and 106mm RCL for the Plains.
They have been replaced by Missiles.
Haven't understood you.IPakistan Army uses the RPG 7 not India
84 mm is the standard size of Carl Gustav and is clearly a RCL Rifle.Haven't understood you.
I thought we were talking of the IA.
It uses 84mm Carl Gustav.
I have not mentioned anything of the Pak Army!
Where did you get that from?
Really.84 mm is the standard size of Carl Gustav and is clearly a RCL Rifle.
I would agree here sir, infact all Arty Units are equipped with RCLs too and we in the army refer it by that name.but at the end of the day it still is a RCL RL. It works on that principle so is a RCLReally.
The Indian Army nomenclature is Rocket Launcher 84mm Carl Gustav.
Visit any infantry battalion and check it out, even if you don't believe me, having commanded an Infantry unit and an Infantry Brigade.
Ask them for a RCL and check the reaction!
Each arty unit is equipped with 2 RCLs. Basically gun area protection. Also for deployment during Convoys. Light Regiments have more because of their forward deployment. You are from the IA Arty?
Guess why the Arty has RL?
