The Gas Turbine engines are coming from Ukraine..

SE "Zorya"- "Mashproject" signed the contract with Indian customer for delivery of gas turbine power plants for ships that will be built at Mumbai shipyard. The contract is concluded with the parties following the results of the tender of 2012. Under the terms of the contract the enterprise will equip four new ships (Project 15B) during the period of 2016 to 2019.
The enterprise already equips the third series of such ships. In 1993-1995 the power units were delivered to India for three ships of the Project 15 (Delhi type) and in 2005-2006 for three ships of the Project 15A (Kolkata type).
The enterprise will produce an updated gas turbine power unit with microprocessor control system.

Their dates seem to conflict the one in the report by Indrus. If the last unit will be delivered by 2019 it won't take MDL 6 years to deliver the final destroyer :)
What's the current delivery timeline for the P-15B?

A really silly question.....But does kneel laying imply that the construction has started full fledged? Im asking cause there have been no updates for a while, and no "under construction" pics either.

It depends on the shipyard. Regularly, keel laying means that the production has formally started, but (!) it's not really an ongoing process till the blocks are being fabricated.

normaly, 'steel-plate cut' might be the very start of a new ship's construction..and this process would be at least one year earlier than the 'kneel laying'...

----------------------
P15B project is going on well, the first hull has almost been shaped by this May...

the following pix were taken in Oct 2013 and May 2014, with this we would see what the shipyard has achieved so far...when this vessel is launched .the time of the assembly job on the slipway would be very interesting and important indicator which would tell how the new assembly method works to improve the MDL's ability...

BTW. it seems that the VLS layout is similar to the P15A's.... 16 SSM+32 SAM

Any idea if P-15B would carry the legacy LW-08 D-band air search radar or L Band radars like SMART-L or S1850M?

What are the characteristic differences between D Band and L Band?

@Twinblade @p2prada
Too early to say anything. Once the ship is built we will have to spot it using images and videos. So, you are going to have to wait that long. :)

Maybe LRDE will build us new radars by then, with GaN. That's the next focus for radars.

Should get the RAN-40L like the IAC-1 and P-17As (let's pray this decision is upheld despite SELEX's links to Finmeccanica).

I honestly would LOVE to know your justifications for this absurd claim, unless you were joking?

This one vessel alone could probably take on most of the PN alone.

The same radar as Kolkata class i.e LW-08/RAWL-02 Mk-3.

Tender for the construction of P-15B model
[PDF]http://www.mazagondock.gov.in/newsite2010/pdfs/sb_pmt_aug13/Tender_no_1600000114.pdf[/PDF]

SIPRI quotes 7 of these radars for Kolkata class.

BTW check out the weapons suite too.

So 16 brahmos and 48 SAM's? They could always get rid of 2 AK-630s and put in 32 Barak-1s like Delhi's.

Dont understand why the 2 year interval between commissioning of 2 ships, even with modular construction. And then there's the Chinese, commissioning 2 ships a year..
