Project 75A class Nuclear Attack Submarine

Ya'll Nibbiars The Indian Navy aims to procure new nuclear-powered attack submarines (SSN) under Project 75 Alpha. The Goverment of India approved the construction of six of such submarines in February 2015. These will be designed by the Navy's in-house Directorate of Naval Design and indigenously built in the Shipbuilding Centre at Visakhapatnam. The new domestically built submarines would be third class of SSN operated by Indian navy after leased Charlie 1 and Akula 2 class submarines.

The report stated that Submarine Design Group of the Directorate of Naval Design, assisted by the DRDO, will now start working on the detailed design and construction phase of the programme.

Ya'll Nibbiars Yeah. This subamrine if it's fully stocked can stay for many months may be a year. But it will test the limits of the design and the human limits.

If i remember correctly vls have a negative effect on manuverability .

And most importantly what would be the reactor class , barracuda have 150mw class

Would be same most probably ,as ssn require much powerful reactor , Virginia claa has 7900t and use 210 mw reactor ,so probably use that , also pump jet propulsion is in development

Where did you get these numbers from??
Last I heard it was about 6000 tons.

So enlarged scorpenes with nuclear reactor is on cards. Not bad at all. I say it's the best way to utilize the infrastructure made for scorpene subs. With all costs sinked in it will keep cost low and more importantly faster delivery. This is some bright thinking from defence ministry bamboos if true.....
