No more cricket, for now :rofl:

Pakistan Cricket Board's attempt to put the country back on the international cricket circuit with a T-20 edition featuring leading cricketers from the game worldover has hit a roadblock. And, by the looks of it, the proposed Pakistan Super League (PSL) will not become part of the cricket calendar anytime soon.

With the Federation of International Cricketers Associations and many a national board advising players against participating in PSL owing to security considerations, the PCB has decided to postpone the event indefinitely. Cricket associations of England, Australia and South Africa independently also advised their players against participating in PSL because of the security situation.

The Board, however, insists PSL was postponed because of scheduling issues and the request of many stakeholders for more time to prepare for the series which was initially planned for a March-end launch. According to the Board, over 80 foreign players have already signed agreements with PSL. Also, foreign coaches, umpires and referees have signed up.

The reasons cited notwithstanding, the postponement has come as a big disappointment to the cricket-crazy nation which has not had an international fixture played on its soil since the terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team in Lahore in March 2009.

Pakistan humiliated by innings defeat, series whitewash

CENTURION: Pakistan were crushed by South Africa with a humiliating innings and 18 run defeat while also being clean swept in the three-match Test series here at the SuperSport Park on Sunday.:rofl::rofl::rofl:

After compiling 409 in the first innings, South Africa bowled Pakistan out twice to win the third and final Test by an innings and 18 runs as the match ended within three days.

Pakistan were dismissed for 156 in the first innings and after being followed on were all out for 235 before the end of the third day

Fast bowler Dale Steyn was the most successful bowler who captured four wickets for 80 but the Man-of-the Match award went to debutant fast-medium bowler Kyle Abbott who finished the match with nine for 68 including seven for 29 in the first innings

Main scorers for Pakistan were opener Imran Farhat (43), wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed (40) and tail-ender Saeed Ajmal (31).

Australia all-rounder Shane Watson is the latest signing as foreign player in Pakistan Super League. He is the third Australian cricketer who has signed up for 2016 PSL competition which is scheduled to take from 4 to 24 February.

This will be great exposure for Shane Watson ahead of Australia’s T20 World Cup campaign. Recently Watson announced retirement from test cricket and mentioned that he would be focusing on 20-20 format. Hence signing up for Pakistan Super League, clarifies that he is desperate to be a part of new league.

Shane Watson said, “I am very excited to be involved in the inaugural PSL. There are a lot of world class players involved so I can’t wait to be a part of it.”

The Australian champ has played 49 matches for country in T20s in which he has scored more than 1100 runs and taken 39 wickets. 10 international fifties are also against Shane Watson’s name.

Pakistan Super League Chairman Najam Sethi welcomes Shane Watson inclusion in the competition and says that he’ll be one of the top players in draft. He said, “He will definitely be a hot pick in the PSL draft.”

Shane Watson also uses to play in KFC T20 Big Bash League for Sydney Sixers whereas he was a part of Rajasthan Royals in Indian Premier League.
