Bit of search tells me it is some what identical to other cruise missiles in weight and height rather bit on lower side than Tomahawk and Babur but with better range. Not bad.

Sub launch capability is great. Nirbhay was modeled after Israeli Popeye missile used in
Israeli dolphin subs.

If you are going to build TELs in government owned railway coach factories, this is what you will get.

I agree with you that we need better TELs for all missile systems. We need TELs that can be camouflaged adequately so that discreet movement is possible.

However it is good to see locally designed practical working systems.

Nirbhay is very important capability and this missile must be manufactured immediately without waiting for further tests.

Tests can be conducted in parallel.

This missile will be needed for attacking key military nodes in Pakistan. The missile must be available in great quantities.

We need a dedicated factory ONLY for production of Nirbhay. This project actually carries as much importance as LCA Tejas.

I believe a rigid body TEL for the nirbhay is on the way based upon the TATA 12x12 prahaar missile carrier, point to note is how we have matured as a missile manufacturing nation. remember the early days when the early Agni series used to be tested off fixed launch pads. any layman watching the current tests will be able to say that we have definitely matured when it comes to testing systems that have a large amount of hardware including TELs already configured and ready for deployment. we saw that with the Brahmos,Prahaar and the Pragati and now with the Nirbhay. Just goes to shwo that given a chance when faced with a no-import clause our scientists can build world class systems from scratch in India.

Even if 1000km in 40min is true, then it comes to 1500kmph = Mach 1.2

Or just wrong reporting.

Or deliberate misinformation.

Can the gurus tell us the status of various missiles like Shaurya, Astra, Sagarika, etc.? (Whether they are in service or not, or when are they supposed to be in service, etc.)

The prithvi, agni 1&2,brahmos and akash are in service as confirmed by the army.
The agni 3 is rumoured to have entered service.
All of the others are believed to not be in service however there are some rumours about the prahaar as well.

That would be 860kmph or Mach 0.7

Barber is not countered by Nirbhay. It will be countered by Akash and MR-SAM.
