yeah something like this that will scared the hell out of our enemies.
something like that has almost no defense, imagine a swarm of 500 nirbhay's heading towards karachi and gwadar while another 500 brahmos launched from another of these ships heads towards the Pakistani navy and other assets in both cities , the naval war will be won and two major OPFOR cities will be devastated with only two ships deployed from our end.

Suddenly entire city will light up in few seconds and as you have said no defence against such an attack.

Gulf war II, shock and awe would look like child's play.

Where is the Missile :dude:
India to test fire sub sonic cruise missile Nirbhay on Tuesday
Published On March 9, 2013

Balasore: The much-hyped newly developed subsonic, medium range, cruise missile 'Nirbhay' will be test fired from Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur on sea, about 15 kms from here on Tuesday, defence sources said today...

As a precautionary measure, the villagers residing within the 2 km radius of the the launch complex-III of the ITR will be evacuated. The defence authorities held a meeting with the Balasore administration on Friday last and it was revealed that about
3284 people, including 698 minors belonging to 453 families, all residents of five villages namely Jaydevkasaba Pahi, Sahaji Nagar Pahi, Luna Pahi, Kusumuli Pahi and Khadu Pahi would be displaced temporarily.

The displaced villagers would be given accommodation in two temporary shelters. While each adult would be paid Rs 185 for shifting from their houses, the minor would be paid Rs 75. This apart, the authority would also pay compensation for shifting the cattle and domestic livestock.

Nirbhay is a loitering missile so it can be used in many different roles (land-sea)

Rail guns wont come online until 2034 atleast. But when it does, the understanding of artillery will change forever.

What will change the game for us as far as very long range precision strike at short notice will be these babies...

DRDO HSTDV

ISRO AVATAR

People tend to forget that a subsonic CM will vey rarely survive today's AD saturated environment, such as over China.

These are the steps to revolution in Guided strikes. And We have the pleasure of being at the forefront of it..

Those S300 and its copy clones are cause for concern therefore we need to take out their radars, using brahmos which will act like long range very fast sniper.

Yeah that is why Brahmos was developed.
It's survivality too will come under doubt post 2030 when we expect proliferation of far better SAMs and IR sensors. Already several reports claim that the US ESSM sea Sparrow can target supersonic CMs, and the Aegis radar system, the Russian S-300 are already able to engage hypersonic BMs and supersonic CMs in a limited capacity.

The Brahmos and Nirbhay are good for the present. But we must begin planning for the future now. As they say, ALWAYS remain ahead of the Curve.
@LETHALFORCE, the HSDTV is not for this age, but for the next decade. And I can bet on it that by then it will be the requirement, and most definately not an overkill.

I beg to differ. A Brahmos with its supersonic speed will not be a preferrable vehicle for radar destrction.

Of course it can be used against static radar sites, but now, with most radars and SAM systems being mobile, it cannot be used effectively from its max range.

Radars do not stay on all the time, nor do they stay static at one place. Further radars work in a wolfpack, with multiple radars overlapping a sector and some radars working in passive mode and some in active. They change their modes frequently, making it very hard to get a good fix on the location. Further even if a location is traced, there is no guarantee that the radar will stay on that same place for the next 20 mins, the time taken by Brahmos in covering 300km.

Thus even the US uses AC (read B1 Lancer, B2, F117) based HARM for SEAD and DEAD role, especially against mobile radars. Reason being long loiter time to get good fix and confirmation. This is the biggest bonus for the NIRBHAY. With good loiter time and anti radiation seekers, it can act as good DEAD platform. Rurther with low altitude characteristics, ground radars cannot detect it until it comes within line of sight, which for a plain is about 50 km.

The most kickass thing about chandipur is that the tides there are such that the sea recedes to a distance of about 4-5 km from the shore at three different times everyday, this provides the scientists there with ample opportunity to drive out onto the sea bed and pick up pieces of any debris etc of the launches, quite contrary to public opinion chandipur is an open city and is sold as a beach destination by the orissa tourism board. the only places out of bounds are the testing ranges and DRDO facilities. i had gone there when in class 6 on one such vacation with my parents. pretty good calm quiet place!
