Follow r/Militaryporn on Reddit. You will find that special forces of Cyprus and Tunisia have better equipments than Para SF.
For me it is not a biggie, i don't care how other countries equip their troops.
i would more interested to know, how would those other countries troops equip themselves if they were fighting in our full range of climatic conditions.

For me there is only one outstanding point in terms of equipment that i would like to see, as soon as possible on Indian troops, that is SDR comms and associated accessories. Next war will fix everything, whenever it happens.

That's exactly why a well-equipped SF is not as consequential as fanboys think it is, especially if the rest of the military is small, when viewed through the larger geopolitical lens.

Fellow members keep reminding us on the SF thread about how even Philippines SF is better equipped than Indian SF. But what they don't realize is that, for example, Philippines is ultra-excited about buying BrahMos, so much that they've officially called BrahMos "the first Philippine weaponry with deterrent capability". LOL. Here we have a country whose SF is 'better than India' but who looks up to India for its first big weapon. What an irony !

It is the other way round, actually. Indian brass should be ashamed that a country which depends on India for basic deterrence has better equipped SOF.

No, it did not.
But, for example, Kargil fixed a bigger problem; it taught IAF the importance of precision laser-guided bombs.
And 20 years to get a attack helo

Also 20 years to get another fighter.

and no dedicated CAS ac.

Anyway the debate is long..you cant expect to get fucked everytime to know the importance of things.

That's true. But, for example, even at its peak of unipolar hegemony in 1998, USA failed to detect Pokhran nuclear test, which was one of the biggest failures in the history of American intelligence. That resulted in a classified overhaul of CIA and NSA. So 'getting f**ked' is sometimes necessary for radical changes.

Operationalizing LCH in 20 years without previous experience in building attack helos is decent for a country whose HDI is less than that of Iraq and Libya.

I think we're talking simplistically here. The correct thinking is far more complex than this and involves the interplay of many factors.
