India plans to fast-track its ongoing rebalance of military forces & firepower to the northern borders with China and the critical Indian Ocean Region (IOR), in a decisive shift away from the decades-long focus on the western front with Pakistan.
The standoff with China has been a disguise in blessing for India . It has woken the babus and politicians from their slumber and literally forced them to come face to face with reality. The powers be has decided to shed off our policy of strategic appeasement with China and it's communist party . From now onwards, we will stand up to China not only on our own frontiers but elsewhere too in our extended neighborhood. It's now a no holds barred fight between the world's largest democracy and the largest dictatorship . And India will win.
This standoff will also give a much needed push to long standing and delayed procurements of platforms ,missiles and munitions for the Indian armed forces . Will force the bean counters at Finance ministry to loosen their purse strings and release the required amount for modernisation and capability accretion .
If the standoff continues into the summer months and I am sure it will, because Jinping can't afford to lose face with that Titanic ego of his , it may actually fast track the acquisition of another batch of Rafales or prod us to go for 114 Rafales in a government to government deal with France .
We all know what had happened to Titanic. Xi's CPC ship has just scraped off an Indian iceberg. It's just a matter of time now.
