Some info's from South Korea.
Soon should end development program for improvements for K1 and K1A1 MBT's. Thus K1 will be upgraded to K1E1 standard, and K1A1 to K1A2 standard. Both tanks will receive new components that were taken from K2 MBT development program.
Also K2 is in mass production, first batch of 206 tanks, and first tanks should be inducted in to service in june, this year. First half of K2's will have MTU engine and most likely Renk transmission, second half and next production batches, should receive South Korean engine and transmission.
As far as I know from Kadrun (MP.net user), K2 might be now a bit different than presented prototypes, as some improvements were added to tank.
Also South Korea is preparing mass improvements for it's AFV's.
K55 SPH's will be upgraded to K55A1, more K9 SPH's will be ordered, K21 IFV is in mass production, K200/K200A1 APC will be upgraded, there are informations about new SPH development program. So a lot of things are going on in South Korea.
