not that easy ... Mongolia is largely dependent on china ........
we need to make Mongolia to feel independent of china (or atlest start to have capacity ) then this will be the next logical step till then have improve air force ............... right now we lag even our own original strength in air power...............
Agree with the first part. As for the second half of your post, that's why I said only a couple of planes.

BEIJING: China is giving signs of lowering its belligerence towards India ahead of the visit of Ajit Doval, the National Security Adviser, who will meet Chinese president Xi Jinping and other Chinese leaders on Thursday and Friday.
China's official news agency, Xinhua, caused a surprise praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi's management of the Indian economy and emphasising the need for enhancing business relations between the two countries.
This is seen as a signal from the top leadership that any possibility of a military conflict should be avoided because India is an important market for Chinese business.

Chinese foreign ministry on Wednesday refrained from a sharp attack on India when the issue about the border standoff+ came up. The spokesman merely quoted Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi on the issue and reiterated China's stands that withdrawal of Indian troops at Doklam is a pre-condition for meaningful dialogue.

There are signs China would be ready for a settlement
if the two sides can work a formula to avoid loss of face for the government at a time when the People's Liberation Army is celebrating its 90th anniversary on August 1

It's still a huge loss of face for the lizard.
Chinese were crying buckets that there will be no talks unless India backs down.

Now they are hosting doval . For what to polish his shoes???:hehe:

If chinese were serious they should have not invited doval unless India backs down. Chinkies have lost all nerve it seems.

I still think target of escalation is not us, it's something to do with their internal politics.

Doval visit was decided before G20, nothing to do with this escalation. My guess is that he won't even raise this current border issue during the visit.

We can't trust the Chinese. This might just be a subterfuge in order to buy some time, we must not let our guard down.

If Chinese signal for de-escalation, let's talk with Vietnam.

If they declare that they are ready to withdraw unconditionally, let's talk with Taiwan.

I want the situation to be hot and end with atleast skimmers only.:shoot: :shoot:

Call me stupid but I want Aksai Chin back and the Chinese area between Nepal and Bhutan so that Chicken's neck is not threatened in near future:crying: :crying: :smash: :smash:

I think Chini Govt escalated. Media are just their mouthpeices, global times or xinhua. So there must be some behind the back deliberations going on within PLA, CCP and Xi as to how to handle doval.

It's not just the media. PLA has issued open threats , also foreign minister of china called it Indian intrusion.

The escalation is quite formal now .

And doval will talk about boundary he is NSA , what else will he discuss???

CANBERRA: The US Pacific Fleet commander said on Thursday he would launch a nuclear strike against China next week if President Donald Trump ordered it, and warned against the military ever shifting its allegiance from its commander in chief.

Adm Scott Swift was responding to a hypothetical question at an Australian National University security conference following a major joint US-Australian military exercise off the Australian coast. The drills were monitored by a Chinese intelligence-gathering ship off northeast Australia.

Asked by an academic in the audience whether he would make a nuclear attack on China next week if Trump ordered it, Swift replied: "The answer would be: yes."

"Every member of the US military has sworn an oath to defend the constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic and to obey the officers and the president of the United States as commander and chief appointed over us," Swift said.

"This is core to the American democracy and any time you have a military that is moving away from a focus and an allegiance to civilian control, then we really have a significant problem," he added

Pacific Fleet spokesman Capt Charlie Brown later said Swift's answer reaffirmed the principle of civilian control over the military.

"The admiral was not addressing the premise of the question, he was addressing the principle of civilian authority of the military," Brown said. "The premise of the question was ridiculous."

The biennial Talisman Saber exercise involved 36 warships including the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan, 220 aircraft and 33,000 military personnel.

It was monitored by a Chinese People's Liberation Army-Navy Type 815 Dongdiao-class auxiliary general intelligence vessel from within Australia's 200-mile exclusive economic zone.

Ministry of Defence enhances Financial Powers of Armed Forces

In an unprecedented move, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has decided to delegate substantial financial powers to the Armed Forces for undertaking works for perimeter security of sensitive military installations. This has been done primarily to expedite the decision making process involved in the modernisation of the security apparatus of airbases and defence installations. The Vice-Chiefs of the three Services have been empowered to place orders, procure equipment and carry out civil works without further seeking approvals of the MoD.

The financial delegation represents a significant jump in the powers currently exercised by the Services. The Defence Minister, Shri Arun Jaitley has also fixed strict timelines to ensure that the works are undertaken on priority and in a time-bound manner to ensure full security of our critical defence assets.

This is a one week old move, right? And this has already been posted here, with much fanfare, if I might add.
