May be not war, they are trying to checkmate India without war. This is what happens when we play strategic games on our own land instead of preemptively playing it outside our borders. I dont think he did this without thinking through scenarios. And both Indian and Chinese troops are eyeball to eyeball on disputed territory so he is not loosing anything. Its not like India is controlling Dokla plateau.So there is no immediate escalation pressure on him.

IA blocking chinese activity in Dolka Plateau and sitting their, which china considers its own territory is itself is embarrassment for china.

That is not Dokla trijunction, it is dokla plateau. They know Dokla trijunction is not their territory, dokla trijunction is south of himalyan watershed. They did this with a definite plan , Xi is not going to face any embarrassment.
