I think I speak for a lot of us that their reputation will take a severe beating and I won't take them seriously ever after if they don't do anything after this incident.

After Pangong clashes with Chinese troops, Indian Army officers hold exercises near Chang La Pass

After Pangong became the latest flashpoint of standoff between the Indian and Chinese troops where soldiers from the two sides clashed in Ladakh on August 15, Army troopers are holding military exercises a few kilometers from the Chang La Pass at an altitude of 14,000 feet.

On the 224-km journey from Leh to Pangong, there has been a regular movement of troops and vehicles. The Chang La Pass is the second highest motorable road in the world at 17,668 km.

At around 8.30 am on August 15, troops of the 23 Sikh regiment hoisted the tri-colour at the giant Pangong Lake. The flag hoisting event ended with the national anthem as the handful of troops headed back to their camp on the banks of the 134-km lake. Chinese troops indulged in stone pelting after Indian soldiers prevented the People's Liberation Army (PLA) soldiers from crossing the Line of Control in the Pangong Tso (Lake) area. The ensuing stone pelting and clashes between the two forces left several Indian troops injured.

Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a soldier said, "This should not have happened. But at least we are prepared."
In the wake of such a confrontational atmosphere, the salt water lake strategically sandwiched between the Himalayas presents a picture of calm. DS Hooda, former commander of the Northern Army, said, "The region requires both brain and brawn. With oxygen depleting fast in the region, soldiers need to think quickly to handle the situation in the heat of the moment. A shouting match between the troops can otherwise end up in a shooting match and a bloodbath. The training, thus, is of extreme importance and the situation needs to be handled sensibly."

PLA TROOPS TRIED TO ENTER INDIA FROM 2 AREAS

The PLA troops "tried to enter the Indian side from two areas - Finger Four and Finger Five - twice between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m." on our Independence Day, but these incursion bids were successfully thwarted by the Indian border patrols. A local said, "We saw nothing, but we see the boats on the banks move. We hope nothing happens here, like in Chusul (another area of conflict)."

Tensions at the border are palpable as Army troops and vehicles take the crucial arterial road to Pangong. Both the Army and ITBP (Indo-Tibetan Border Police) have been tight-lipped. The Chinese Foreign Ministry has so far rejected overtures of peace by External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Home Minister Rajnath Singh over the Doklam stand-off, which has not shown any signs of abating, despite attempts of peace by India. China is, on the other hand, escalating the issue, by further expanding its intrusion attempts into Pangong.

Speaking to India Today, Defence expert and Major General (retired) PK Sehgal said, "China has an important election coming up, which is important for President's ego. Chinese is rejecting all the overtures by India."

INDIA, CHINA SHARE 4,000-KM-LONG LAC BORDER

India and China share an over-4,000 km-long LAC (Line of Actual Control). China claims approximately 90,000 sq km of territory in Arunachal Pradesh besides 38,000 sq km in the Jammu and Kashmir sector. The recent visit of President Ramnath Kovind and Army chief Bipin Rawat to Ladakh is being seen as more than mere symbolism and a certain boost to the security forces' morale.

Another Defence expert Qamar Agha said, "Incursions in the entire region are taking place with Chinese PLA troops being deployed in crucial areas, as a result of which India has been forced to deploy its forces. There is already intense speculation both in India and China over whether PM Modi will attend the ninth BRICS Summit, scheduled to be held in Xiamen in China's Fujian province from September 3-5. But experts are of the view that PM Modi's visit could ultimately hold the trump card.

IAF quietly gets Panagarh Air Force Base ready amid high-decibel row with China

The Indian Air Force has without any fanfare added more teeth to its capabilities in the east by commissioning Air Force Station Arjan Singh in Panagarh, about 150km northwest of Kolkata, in the middle of the stand-off with China in Doklam.

AFS Arjan Singh became fully operational, with its full complement of six C-130J Super Hercules strategic aircraft, in the last week of July. The Doklam stand-off with China started a month earlier.

Panagarh is the second location in the country, after Hindan in Ghaziabad, to have a base for the C-130J aircraft. Technicians and engineers from Lockheed Martin have been building hangars and other facilities for these aircraft at Panagarh for over two years. A senior IAF official in New Delhi said an Ilyushin Il-78 mid-air refueller has also been based at Panagarh to extend the endurance of Eastern Air Command (EAC)'s fighter fleet, particularly the Sukhoi Su-30 MKIs.

"The first of the C-130Js started arriving in India in 2011 and the first squadron (Veiled Vipers) was based at Hindan. These aircraft are considered among the most versatile in their class, capable of landing with troops and equipment at Advanced Landing Grounds with short runways close to the Line of Actual Control with China in India's northeastern states. The Super Hercules is not a mere transport aircraft. It is a strategic asset that can deploy troops in hostile territory at extremely short notice," another IAF officer said.

The hangars and other facilities at the bases at Hindan and Panagarh are hush-hush affairs not without reason. Entire Special Forces units with equipment bunk in air-conditioned quarters below the hangars. This enables them to mobilise within minutes and board the aircraft that are kept ready for take-off at any point of time. When not in actual operation, Special Forces personnel train both with and without the aircraft.

"Panagarh is crucial also because the Indian Army's newly raised 17 Strike Corps is to be headquartered there. Panagarh will also have one of the two high-altitude infantry divisions (59 Division) of the Corps based there. The 17 Strike Corps is being raised keeping in mind threats from across India's northern border. All these make AFS Arjan Singh a key strategic location. It is being kept at a state of full preparedness for 'short and swift' operations," the officer added.

The IAF believes that commissioning of AFS Arjan Singh will raise eyebrows across the LAC but officers maintain that it is all part of a schedule that has nothing to do with the present situation. However, assets like Il-78 refuellers are deployed for better preparedness during contingencies. With squadrons of the Mig-21s and Mig-27s being gradually phased out, the Su-30 MKI has become the mainstay of the EAC. These air-superiority aircraft have a range of 3,000km that can be more than doubled by mid-air refuelling, thereby increasing their potency manifold and enabling them to launch strategic weapons.

Kind of confused here. They are talking about two separate incidents? One celebrating Independence Day and second the stone pelting? The troops in the video are not Army let alone Sikh Regiment. Obviously it could be that the video is not of the incident they mentioned as well..

One of the outcomes about this Ladakh brawl is that in general we didn't mind to accept that our chaps took some punches unlike Chinese who initially denied brawl happened in this first place.

Atleast we know that most of us don't have a false ego of invincibility, in general we were saying "so what if we took some punches, we also gave it back". I'd say this is a good sign because false ego are even more dangerous.

This is what is dragging china to real confrontation with more than half of the world. their false ego and their hope to get things done with false ego.

Want to be in the Chinese army? Then stop masturbating

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

No fizzy drinks: Chinese army tells recruits to shape up

Ten tips for recruits
The PLA's advice appeared on its official "ChinesePeoplesArmy" account on WeChat, a WhatsApp-like mobile messenger, on 19 August.

It cited data from a Chinese city where 56.9% of candidates failed their physicals, and recommended that potential candidates follow 10 basic principles:

  • Cut out fizzy drinks and alcohol: approximately 25% of all candidates failed blood and urine tests
  • Spend less time in front of screens: 46% of candidates failed eyesight tests, which the outlet blames on "reliance on mobile phones and other electronic devices"
  • Exercise more: 20% failed because they were overweight
  • Cut down on computer games and/or masturbating: 8% failed because of abnormalities in the scrotum as a result of sitting too much, it said
  • Develop better sleeping habits: 13% failed because their blood pressure was too high
  • Don't get a tattoo
  • Drink clean water: 7% failed because of ear, nose or throat problems, partly the result of long-term consumption of bad water
  • Seek corrective treatment for genetic conditions: 3% failed because of conditions such as excessive sweating or flat feet
  • Seek treatment for mental health issues: 1.6% failed because of mental health issues, particularly depression
  • Have better standards of hygiene and sanitation: 3.4% failed because of regional diseases, such as Kashin-Beck disease (KBD), a chronic disease affecting the bone found in western China that has been linked to poor living conditions

Chinese now dont have army, their communist party has private thugs with uniforms and weapons, they are called PLA. If it was Chinese army, then they would have called as "Chinese Army".

See the picture clearly shows that PLA's primary concern is the party.

Its just like Shiv Sena with uniform.

New Delhi: India and Nepal on Thursday inked eight pacts, including on cooperation in countering drug trafficking. The pacts were signed after comprehensive talks between
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Nepalese counterpart Sher Bahadur Deuba on strategic bilateral and regional issues.

"Had a positive meeting reviewing the gamut of our partnership," Modi said at a joint press event with Deuba and assured him of India's commitment towards overall growth and development of the Himalayan nation.

Deuba said Nepal would "never allow any anti-India activities from its soil".

The two leaders also jointly inaugurated the Kataiya-Kusaha and Raxaul-Parwanipur cross border power transmission lines.

Modi identified defence and security as an important aspect of bilateral ties.

Earlier, Deuba was accorded a ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan, where he is staying as a state guest.

Deuba arrived in New Delhi on Wednesday on a four-day visit, his first foreign trip after assuming office in June this year.

Lets not forget the Chinese also has large fleet of cargo ships o_O..

What if they actually put in plan to use these ships to crash on our Warships and damage them and put them out of action ..If the chinese really use this option our war ships are really in great threat compared to theirs ...So blocking Malacca straits is not some kids play that we can do it just at drop of hat ...blocking Malacca also bring the war to the southern part of our subcontinent ...Are we ready to escalate it to such levels especially when economy is not moving up north as expected ..

Plus the biggest joke is on us if we are looking for blocking the chinese ships ..our 80 % oil import is 60 % is shipped by the chinese oil tankers ..What if they decide to stop carrying oil do we have resources to find alternative options to bring oil from Gulf countries ....

what are You smoking Bro ??
in the case of war they will send their navy to attack on south India .......................so blocking of malacca strait is necessary to stop their invasion .
also we have more than 5 million tonnes of underground crude oil storage which can be used for many Months in the case of war ..

www.economictimes.com/industry/energy/oil-gas/india-to-commission-5-mt-underground-oil-storages-by-october/articleshow/46073393.cms

Hitting Indian Navy ship by Chinese cargo ships ?? :pound::pound::pound:

Lol , they will spread mines around Malacca strait & our navy ships are armed each unknown Incoming ship will be destroyed in the case of war .
