@Mikesingh Intelligence reports (according to Times Now). They even named the Pak SSG Havaldar.

New Delhi: For Independence Week, terrorists across the Line of Control and their handlers had a special plan. Send in as many terrorists as they could, not just to strike Indian border posts, but also camps and convoys of security forces and targets like railway lines. Sabotage was objective and they would get help not just from the journeyman Pakistan soldier but the elite SSG commandos.

Intelligence reports accessed by Times Now tell the story of the movement of terrorists to strike any target given the opportunity. That they failed to disrupt Independence Day was courtesy the security forces, but while the August 15 celebrations are over, the terrorists are still there, some in launch pads across the Line of Control, some already inside. Intelligence reports speak of about 80-100 terrorists, ready to hit Indian targets. Most of them are trying to enter or entering in groups of two and three.

*There are two Lashkar-e-Taiba groups opposite Uri, in the Pakistani forward posts of Cham, Sank and Panchiban. They appear ready to target Uri and Indian border posts like Rhino, Chand-2, Cruwala, Plateau and Upper Jeni.

* There is also a report about terrorists concentrating in Navkote, opposite Kupwara. The main targets are Kupwara and Bandipora. The targets across the Pir Panjal are Anantnag, Pulwama and Shopian.

*Three or four Lashkar terrorists have been sighted in Sukhmal, opposite Samba. They want to attack the Pathankot railway line.

* Five terrorists have been sighted opposite Poonch and they are planning a standoff attack against border posts. Another five terrorists, accompanied by Yasin Nai from Berwan are moving to Tangdhar, readying to attack the border posts.

* The presence of Abdul Razak, a Pakistani army havildar and six SSG commandos at the Pakistan forward post of Panchiban is more proof of the Pakistan Army's links with terrorists. Five Lashkar terrorists with Abdul Hamid of Gowalan as their guide are moving towards Uri and the Sukhdar forest. They may target the Indian forward defence posts of Plateau, Cruwala, Log 1, Log 2, Rhino and Upper Jeni.

* Five terrorists have been spotted in Chananlan village in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. They are planning BAT or suicide attacks on the forward posts near Handwara.

* Local terrorists are also part of the mix. Two of them-- Kub Mir also known as Murtaza and Mushtaq Shahbangi and four foreign Lashkar terrorists have been seen in Naugam. They plan to attack army camps and convoys.

*Four foreign Lashkar terrorists have been spotted in the Bangarpura and Saidpur parts of Sopore. They are likely to split into two groups and plan suicide attacks in Sopore and use IEDs. One group may move towards Baramulla.

* Four Lashkar terrorists have been seen at Dhundiyal village opposite Border Post Fatwal, in Keran. From this POK village, they may come in using culverts in the area. Their tasks include sniping and standoff fire. Similarly, seven terrorists are at Khappi Baihk in POK. They are moving towards Sadhna and Tangdhar.

*Some terrorists are already inside. Five from the Lashkar-e-Taiba are staying with Mohammed Hamid at PS Kalaroosh and in Baramulla, terrorist leader Khalid Bahi and two LET men were seen in the Dangwacha police station area

* While the Lashkar is the primary force, the Hizbul Mujahideen remains an effective weapon of the ISI. There are eight HM men opposite Macchal and moving from Kel in POK to the Lolab Valley and that is where five other Lashkar men are heading from Tejian, opposite Macchal.

* The Jaishe Mohammed isn't out of it either. A mixed group of JEM and LET terrorists have been spotted at Kel, across the Line of Control and they are on their way to Gagal, via Kalaban.

Security forces have been alert: intelligence agencies had picked up chatter about terrorists targeting temples in Gujarat, UP and Assam. Security measures have ensured that nothing untoward has happened.

It could be a tactic to ease the pressure off the Chinese too. Basically force us to compromise. Sweeter than honey friends watching each other's backs?
Our Army had given quite a few punches to the napak fauj in the months of may to july. We also destroyed a lot of their forward posts. Its possible the pak army rebuilt their terror infra in past few weeks and are now ready with fresh stock of pigs and support ammo. Coz LoC has been mostly silent till recently.
Now they will again up the ante and try to push as many terrorists as possible and India will be forced to give another round of thrashing. The pakis never learn....

Times Now is reporting that 30 Pakistan commandos have been spotted along with terrorists along the LOC as part of BAT teams. It will be interesting to see how this develops.
to be honest
this is not a big news...

SSG's presence near LOC is too common. Not just that, many residents of nearby villages belong to SSG units. But because of the covert nature of their ops and recruitment in CAD they do not come open in uniforms.

I wouldn't be surprized if the terrorists which IA hunts belong to elite CAD.

Chiefs of Army, Navy, IAF review India’s security preparedness
Friday, August 18, 2017 By: HT Source Link: CLICK HERE

The powerful Chiefs of Staff Committee (CoSC) comprising chiefs of the Army, the Navy and the Indian Air Force on Thursday reviewed the security preparedness of the three services including along the Sino-India border, official sources said.

The standoff between armies of India and China in Dokalam and attempts by Chinese troops on Tuesday to enter the Indian territory along the banks of Pangong lake in Ladakh were also discussed at the meeting, they said.

“Issues relating to the country’s external security as well as situation along the borders were discussed,” a source said.

The meeting came two days after Indian border guards foiled an attempt by Chinese soldiers to enter Indian territory along the banks of Pangong lake.

Soldiers of China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) tried to enter the Indian side in two areas – Finger Four and Finger Five – twice between. But on both the occasions their attempts were thwarted by alert Indian troops.

Personnel from both sides received minor injuries and the situation was brought under control after the customary banner drill under which both sides hold banners before stepping back to their respective positions.

The incident was discussed at a flag meeting between the two sides at Leh’s Chusul sector yesterday.

The Indian and Chinese troops are locked in a bitter face-off at Dokalam in India-China-Bhutan tri-junction for little over two months.

China has been ramping up rhetoric against India, demanding immediate withdrawal of Indian troops from Dokalam. The Chinese state media, particularly, has carried a barrage of critical articles on the Dokalam stand-off slamming India.

In the face of heightened rhetoric by Beijing, India has poured in more troops along the entire stretch of its border with China in Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh.

The “caution level” among the troops has also been raised, according to officials.

The decision to increase the deployment along the nearly 1,400-km Sino-India border from Sikkim to Arunachal Pradesh was taken after carrying out a detailed analysis of the situation and considering China’s aggressive posturing against India on Dokalam, the officials had told PTI last week.

India receives Japanese support on Doklam, says no one should try to change status quo by force
Friday, August 18, 2017 By: TNN Source Link: CLICK HERE

Highlights
  • Japan said there should be no attempt to change the status quo on the ground by force
  • The statement comes as an endorsement of the Indian position that China has violated agreements with India and Bhutan
In a significant act of support for India in its protracted military standoff with China at Doklam, near the Sikkim-Tibet-Bhutan trijunction, Japan has said there should be no attempt to change the status quo on the ground by force.

The Japanese statement comes as an endorsement of the Indian position that China has violated agreements with India and Bhutan in attempting to build a road through Doklam plateau, which is part of Bhutan, a development that would be a serious disadvantage to India's military defences.

Japanese ambassador Kenji Hiramatsu's observation on Doklam comes two months after Indian troops stalled Chinese road construction activities and is seen as endorsing India's stance as being impor tant for a peaceful resolution.

The Japanese reaction follows two separate interventions by the US calling for direct dialogue between India and China to resolve the crisis while cautioning against unilateral changes on the ground. This, too, has been seen as supportive of India's point of view.

The US has also indicated support for India by tagging the Hizbul Mujahideen and its leader, Syed Salahuddin, as sources of terror, a snub to Pakistan and its benefactor, China.

Saying Japan was watching the situation closely , Hiramatsu said it had the potential to affect regional stability. "As far as India's role is concerned, we understand that India is involved in this incident based on bilateral agreements with Bhutan.

External affairs minister Sushma Swaraj has made it clear that India would continue to engage with dialogue through diplomatic channels with China to find a mutually acceptable solution. We consider this attitude towards peaceful resolution important," Hiramatsu said.

Categorising the crisis as a dispute between China and Bhutan, Hiramatsu said India's actions were in keeping with bilateral security arrangements with Bhutan.

Making a pointed reference to China's stance on Doklam, the Japanese ambassador said, "What's important in disputed areas is that all parties involved do not resort to unilateral attempts to change the status quo by force, and resolve the dispute in a peaceful manner." The American and Japanese statements come after angry Chinese rhetoric denouncing India and its actions in the Doklam plateau and demanding a full withdrawal before any talks. India, determined to hold its ground at the site, is preparing for a long standoff, perhaps stretching through the winter.

On Wednesday, the US called on India and China to hold a direct dialogue. US state department spokesperson Heather Nauert said, "We are encouraging both parties to sit down and have direct dialogue." On August 11, the US had called for talks, adding the standoff was being watched closely. "As you know, we have relationships with both governments. We encourage both parties to have conversations," it said.
