This is the official statement of Chinese govt. Indian govt should officially refute it through defense or foreign ministry, which hopefully govt will do.


Last year India officially refuted Pak COAS claim of killing 11 Indian troops, so Indian govt should officially refute this Chinese claim too because this is not an insignificant claim compared with Pak COAS claiming to kill 11 Indian troops.

one things lacking from our side is the daily press briefing, Our foreign ministry press briefing is thursday of the week.
Chinese and American state department on the other hand have daily press briefing.

Do India backed off to maintain bilateral ties by maintaining tranquility at the border according to the chinese perspective???

Pretty ambiguous statement.

We are letting the chinese get off the hook, and letting them save their face.

This should not happen.

The rebuttal must have been clear "Security of Border is India's top most priority, and is non negotiable".

India has not reduced its troops in Doklam, senior government officials said on Wednesday, rebutting China’s claim that the number of Indian security personnel at the tri-junction has come down.

They also asserted that there was a “status quo” at the Doklam for past six weeks.

The strong rebuttal came after Chinese foreign ministry issued a document Wednesday, saying the number of Indian troops was 40 by end of July from 400 in June.

“Over 400 people at one point, have put up three tents and advanced over 180 metres into the Chinese territory. As of the end of July, there were still over 40 Indian border troops and one bulldozer illegally staying in the Chinese territory,” the document said.

Countering Chines contention, sources here maintained that around 350 Indian Army personnel have been in Doklam for last six weeks after China tried to build a road in the area, triggering the standoff.

China also said it has conveyed its firm stand to India that it must take “concrete actions” by immediately pulling back troops from Doklam with “no strings attached” to resolve the current standof

Not just Indian but also the Bhutanese govt. Finally action is happening on their soil. Otherwise the Chinese are doing massive propaganda that India is stealing away sovereignty of Bhutan by not allowing to negotiate with the Chinese.

Indo-Pak Border Priority, 'Smart Fence' by March 2018, Says DG BSF

Border Security Force DG K K Sharma added that since India's relations with Bangladesh are "very good" presently, a similar plan would be put in place to make the Indo-Bangla border secure, once the "resources" are available

My priority is Pakistan, as anything happens here (along the Indo-Pak border), it has grave consequences. We are working to ensure complete sealing of this border and make it more fortified," the Director General said on sidelines of an event to announce the 'BSF half marathon for martyrs' to be held in October this year.

"We are implementing a comprehensive integrated border management (CBIM) plan and are running a pilot project to make our international border (IB) along Pakistan secure," he said.

By March next year, Sharma said, this project will be in place in the Jammu sector (of the IB).

Asked if there were any similar plans for the 4,096-km long India-Bangladesh border, the DG replied "it is a question of priority".

He added that the project to create "smart fencing" along the Indo-Bangla border has "not started" as of now along the eastern frontier.

The BSF DG's statement comes in variance with that of Union home minister Rajnath Singh who had earlier said that the Assam portion of the Indo-Bangla border (about 200kms) will be completely sealed by the first half of 2018.

India Stands By Ajit Doval Statement, Gives Strong Response To China

In light of the current situation at Doklam, where India, Bhutan and China are engaged in a standoff over China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) constructing a road that encroaches on the sovereignty of Bhutan, which it views as a disputed area, the Indian government has stood by the solution provided by National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval during his recent visit to China for the BRICS NSA meet.

China had reiterated its demand that India withdraws its almost 350 security personnel from Doklam 'without strings'. India, however, stuck to what NSA Doval had communicated during his China trip-- that India would acquiesce to a return to status-quo so long as China moves back the road which they were building by at least 250 meters. At that time, Doval’s Chinese counterpart, State Councillor Yang Jiechi, agreed to move by approximately 100 meters and said that for further changes, clearance would be needed from the Chinese government.

As India came to the aid of Bhutan, whose sovereignty it has been the official guardian of since 1949,China had begun to move thousands of troopsand tonnes of military equipment and supplies into the area, escalating the issue. Despite China's firm stance, however, India has reaffirmed that its resolve is undeterred and it will stand by the demand for the road to be moved back before troops can be withdrawn from the disputed area.
