K 9 chassis weight around 25 will easily bring a light tank under 35 T with all bang.

Then, you only leave 10 tones to the turret, armor, gun, shell, fuel, etc.

We have T-72s under 50 T after upgrade. Vijayanta is short term measure which can be used for now.

Engine can be downgraded & hull have to be as close to 20t as possible... That'll leave 9-10ton for the turret, another 2-3 for the fuel & ammo.

We can use 105 gun in jeep mounted classic( just like jeep mounted m40) . In today's war seeing anti tank capabilities of pla army. Light tank are mostly of no use. With jeep mounted guns we could increase maneuverability and increase hit and run attack on pla forces. It will quite good It wiil be effective in giving surprises and for hit and run ambush. Pla army has got a effective anti tank capability and we are ignoring it.

In that case isn't original idea of BMP or new IFV we may buy, mounted turret a better choice for a light tank under 30 T ? Even Korean light tank.. K 21 105 around 26 T is based on similar concept.

To reduce weight to 20 T will taken major work and time.

I don't think we have enough of that, the 4 prototypes are supposed to roll out by the end of this year.

We also need air droppable 20 ton tanks like sprut. which can be air dropped into remote areas along LAC..

Why a tank, why not air droppable heavy armoured ATGM launcher?

Keeping cost of atgm aside, what other disadvantage that atgm launcher has?
