HAL to receive Rs 45,000 crore orders for 83 LCA fighters

That's a costly affair if it doesn't contain all the bells and whistles. From the article posted a few days back, it was mentioned that it will take a month or two for them to get the cost of the support packages and all finalised. So either they have all finalised it already , or its gonna be a money pit.

Thanks a lot guys, i had to create & write a whole new section Shortcomings & Future Upgrades, gathered all the shit there & updated how all the issues being handled.

Go check & tell me what I'd missed.

Uttam is tested on lsp2....not lsp 8..

Lsp8 was previously fired derby bvr
Better yet let's compile the data here itself and let @Indx TechStyle post it with his account. Use my links in above posts.
@Bleh - create an account and then make edits, you are leaving your IP as trace at wiki edits.

Images never work unless you know exact license you want to use.
Just don't post any image you don't hold copyright of. If you have, feel free to do so.

Yes indeed. As account gets old, its voice too will be listened. Or you can use my account. It has extended confirmed rights.
About the images, i don't own any copyrighted ones. Isn't there a way to link images directly from articles or websites? (like this one from a IAF site) Please help...

If anyone from here went to aero India & took photos of Tejas with Brahmos NG pavilion or MWF models & placards, please share.

Or we could directly contact someone explaining & requesting him/her to upload on wikimedia commons, like this guy:

@Bleh look at @IndoPac_info twitter account, this Spanish reporter had a Aero India 2019 detail thread on twitter focusing on LCA LCA 1A MWF and AMCA with all future weapons... Had amazing pics as well
For pics IndoPac_info twitter is a very good option.

I think he will agree to allow posting of his pics provided he is credited for the pics

Can easily be contacted on his twitter.

Damn looks cool

Intakes gives off vibes of being serpentine

Wish had a picture of the rear and top view

And interesting weapons config and layout, like the dual missile on the central fuselage
LCA MK2 with possible weapons load

Here the dual missile carrier pylon are clearly visible. It would be fun if it could carry 3 missiles , not that it is not possible.

#BREAKING : @HALHQBLR to receive ₹45,000 crore order for 83 LCA #Tejas fighters . First Mk1a jet to be delivered in 2023.
For 73 Mark 1A + 10 trainers, at ₹250c-₹275c per unit, about 25000crores for the aircraft & rest for separate "support package". They better ensure 70-80% availability... 75% of Arjun tanks got grounded for lack of spares.

They already wasted months to reduce overall price from 50kcrores to 45kcrores.
Orders to be placed within the next few weeks, then they will deliver after 36 months that is 2023.
Delivery of 16FOC+8trainers should end by 2020 (... maybe 2021), then what?

HJT 36 Sitara the intermediate trainer. As they have mastered the spin recovery in HTT40, they will bring that knowledge to HJT 36.

Whether they will get order for HJT 36 is different thing but HAL will try to set the record straight.

Yes they are pushing for SARAS mk.2 (19 seater) mk.1 (14 seater) is only for testing afaik and won’t enter production.

HAL aims to get IJT flying again by the end of this year but I’m not sure if there’s a market for it in India anymore

Why not. Hawks are advanced jet trainer . Pilatus / htt40 are basic trainers we have no intermediate trainers!

There isn’t enough of a gap between BTA and the AJT to justify the IJT. Would be a needless step
Imho, most airforces with the Hawk send pilots straight from BTA to Hawk AJT.

IRJT only made sense when BTA and AJT deals were stuck.
