Really dude.... This is multirole aircraft with exercise performance excellence particularly in ground attack mode, not can say about air defence role but anyway I think IAF can push it.
WE should had done this in early but alas government was different.
well all IAF aircraft currently in inventory can be called multirole aircraft except for SEPECAT Jaguar but you also have to define what is the primary role of each aircraft. for example, Su-30 MKI is also a multirole Aircraft technically but its primarily role is air superiority.

No su 30 needs to be pre programmed on ground for what role it has to be used it can't change its mode in mid air so it is not a true multi role.

Rcs of tejas is lowest in its class.........
This rcs talk is non sense. A fighter with external stores (drop tanks, munitions, etc) will be picked up from very far ! Essentially - A Su 30 and Tejas will be picked from round about same distance ! So in most mission profiles - RCS will not matter. Only exception perhaps is CAS missions.

Where Tejas really scores - visually its difficult to pick up.

What if its carrying only AAMs and not drop tanks or big bombs?Whats the point of using composites and lo observable features then?

Low maintain schedules/extra life for airframe, reduced weight so better T/W ratio

I must say, the quality of FOC standard Tejas is good. The Paint job and all, inshallaha boy's did a good job. :biggrin2:
What I most interested is the software upgrade, most specifically the "Inflight wind mill reignition" and Zoom Climb.

Thats why i specifically mentioned CAS missions - Close air support missions. You will be carrying AAM's in that mission profile - its a grey area on how much RCS it reduces. According to me- it does not do much. In a clean config - Tejas will have an extremely low RCS.

Tejas does not have any lo-observable features. It has small size - thats it. Small size - restricts internal fuel size and thereby it most probably will require atleast a center line drop tank. Composites may provide RCS reduction - but it is negated by external stores. Composites provides weight reduction, durability advantages.
