INS Kolkata will get its missiles very early, not in 2017. The radar and launchers are already in place, the delivery of the missiles will be after commissioning, that's all. It's not a big difference. It will take time for a ship of this class to be properly integrated with the navy, so it will be before that.

2017 is when Gorky will be fitted with Barak-2, so your information is a bit mixed up.

Yes, the radar is there and it is good(range 250 Kms). But the Barak - 8 itself will not earlier than 2017.

When you yourself said that B-1 is adequate to protect the ship. But not others. Then I replied back all major ships have individual SAM system in barak1

No one will focus fire on a destroyer but AC.

Barak-1 is good but there are limits :
1.number of missiles the ship can carry
2.capacity of how many incoming missiles can handle at a time

I am not, but surely you are.

So, it will deliver to INS w/o Brarak-8(range 70 kms).
With Barack -1(range 17 kms) it hard to competed with Chinese 054A frigate which HQ-16 (range 50KM)

Which of them has VLS and which not.

And FYI Shtil-1 too has a VLS variant for 1135.6 Russian frigates.
