When the NATO exercise are there, they try to play fair as its practice
F-16 with longer ranged AMRAAMS vs Mirage 2000 with..what?
Mirage 2000 = Cannon fodder for the F-16s

Actual Greek Mirage 2000 are "-5".
During the first NATO air to air training where France sent M2000-5, the final score was 40-0 .... and the opponents were mainly F16 (main horse of NATO).

I wish you a nice day. And take some rest, you seemed so tired.

YES, thats true, when an enemy plane approaches the border, there is very less communication and the best way is to lock on the enemy to let them know that he is in your "beads" The enemy then tries to get into his territory.
The idea is not to shoot each other when there is peace time, but to warn the other that they are violoating air space.
That time India was under impression that those are not Pakistani regulars but terrorist and so India tried to maintain the sanctity and did not violate Pak territory...

So the PAF F-16 did lock on Mirage 2000 and the MiG-29 did lock on the PAF F-16 which then disengaged
Shooting down the opponent to peacetime is same as declaring aggression and start of conflict,
The Turks somehow avoided it with Russia as the turks did not expect the Russians to come up with Su-30 in the conflict.

Like wise out mig29 have lock on f16 on same point, when fighters inside their buntry they can't be shoot down in peace time..

It is problem between IAF and HAL yes, but who pays? If not paid ... Mirage 2000 fleet will be just stay in hangar.
So the question might arise, why did the UPA govt sign the deal to upgrade the deal and not consider the M2Ks would be out of warranty

BTW, this is just RFI still a long long way to go,..how much time you think? Decade?

As ever : read better !
It's a problem between HAL and IAF. Who has to pay. No link with France.

Return to bed.

I don't think so.
1) Rafale indigenization is alraidy paid. The MMRCA2 bill be lowered for Rafale, not for the others.
2) Rafale MII is on track since the Reliance deal. Dassault is, at least, 3 years ahead of all the others.
3) Uncle Sam, and specially uncle Donald, will not agree to ToT, or so few....

It's an India vs India problem. Dassault or France has nothing to do with that.
If The Belgium state or Belgium air force don't want to pay to upgrade F16 fleet, it a Belgium vs Belgium problem, not a LM one.

o_O Sure not.
IAF want :
1) The Rafale
2) or the Rafale,
3) if not a west product.

The only threat may come from USA because Modi want to tightened the link with USA against China. But US <=> no ToT !

Just a bried idea of what will be situation of fuirter Rafale "purchase" for which you are dacing abt.
https://theprint.in/security/year-indian-air-force-doesnt-enough-funds-pay-past-purchases/40082/

Poor Poodles,,well it happens.. unfortunately IAF does not always get what it wants
For this time, as for the 2016 Rafale deal : it's only a question of time.

IAF wanted the Rafale.
Parrikar didn't want the Rafale.

At the end, after some years of bargaining the deal was inked. For Rafale.

And as already said, the support & indigenization price is too high to stay at 36 units (India will not make the Mirage 2000 mistake twice). The final number will be between 72 and 250.
My bet? 100 to 120 for IAF. For IN, maybe 57.

- IAF wanted and still wants MMRCAs , not necessarily Rafales.

- Parrikar wanted MKIs instead of Rafale.

- The PM made a PR deal for Rafales

- While IAF insisted on additional MMRCAs to cover the lack of 90 fighters => SE MMRCA

- IAF gave priority to SE MMRCAs and wanted additional Rafales only later

- and now the NDA government made a U turn to MMRCA 2.0, which conveniently delays ad decision on fighters, probably till after the election

IAF gave priority to SE MMRCAs
the SE is more a political governement priority, with F16 to make a bigger and wider anti China deal with USA.
IAF wanted and want more Rafale, the most potent medium aircraft of the time beiing.

Just in your fantasy world, not in reality as proven by IAF Air Chiefs. And a fighter that comes from the production line without HMS, IRST, does not have a low collateral damage weapon, certainly is not the most potent fighter anymore. But the again by 2025 all that will be available for the F4.

You are wrong.

HMS come with F3R. First to be delivered officially in Qatar in the following weeks.

IRST .... what is OSF for you? first one had a IR and a optical chanel. Last has a near IR chanel.

Doesn't have low collateral dammage weapon? A weapon is made to kill my dear. What a strange idea to have a low collateral one.... But if you need it you can use GBU51, which is a GBU 12 with a low warhead. And specially for you : GBU 12 is integrated on Rafale !!!!

2x2 GBU 12 on Rafale.

The world is nice, isn't it?
